boyst Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 (edited) Same in NC, and seconded dove shot... A friend of mine, you know, a guy I know, he said the best thing to do is shoot one or two and leave them there a week or so and they'll stay away for a few weeks. Edited March 17, 2012 by jboyst62
The Guy Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Three words "cue the deer". Funny, I thought the same thing when I read that Jim had the dear in his backyard. Great reference dude!
Ramius Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 If there is any animal that needs culling, it's geese. I don't hunt but I hate those stupid birds. They're all over the place, crapping on everything. Just really disgusting creatures. Agreed. Same problem here in Florida. They **** all over our work parking lot. I actively try to run them over with the truck on my way in and out. They try to breed, but the fox and hawks tend to enjoy the fuzzy yellow appetizers.
truth on hold Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 (edited) There was a story in the Hartford Courant today that the state DEEP reported 7 dogs were killed in February by coyotes. It's a growing problem, and as jboy wrote, they have no natural predators. They are also not native to the northeast. So yes, the numbers of both need to be culled. (I'd add Canada geese to that category, too.) Reintroduce the wolves and bears that were native to the area. Edited March 18, 2012 by Joe_the_6_pack
