Fezmid Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 What is TSO? 181563 Trans Siberian Orchestra http://www.trans-siberian.com AWESOME band that plays Xmas concerts. Did $1 from every ticket go to charity? Apparantly when they played in St. Paul, it was the largest crowd ever (over 9,000). Sounds like MSG was a *tad* larger CW

EZC-Boston Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 I'm going in Boston on Thursday night at the Fleetcenter, I can't wait!

Fezmid Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 so these guys are like the KISS of cheesy orchestral christmas music? 181703 It's obvious that you've never heard them play if you're calling it "cheesy orchestral christmas music." Sad, because I provided a link that you could download clips from and everything. jester43 Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 you're right...and maybe the word "cheesy" didn't need to be in there . i'm just not a big christmas music kind o' guy. i will download and jam, forthwith.

It's almost all original, very story-centric, played by VERY talented artists. They don't play Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer or stuff like that. Also, they have a small orchestra, but it's definately not normal orchestral music. How many orchestras have an electric violin? Listen to some clips and see what you think. Xmas Eve and Other Stories (their first album) is still my favorite. CW
tmk-nj Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 I was there with my wife and 2 kids. TSO put on a great show! We all enjoyed it. We also made to see Rockefeller Center and the tree. It was pretty cold walking the streets of NY yesterday. And the stores, like Toys R us and Macy's were PACKED. I'd hate to work there this time of year. Just crazy!!! tmk-nj
