Terry Steinbach used to be one hell of a catcher, but i'm not sure he would be able to translate those skills to the offensive line, especially at his age...

He's 32 years old and plays a position they have 2 good starters and decent depth with Rheinhart. Don't see it happening.

But we need to sign somebody ! From Oakland A's greens to Buffalo Blues make it happen !!!!

He would be the best G on our team...adding more talent is never a bad thing

I say bring this guy in, he would be a day 1 starter at G and upgrade this line and depth instantly...Him or Winston

We have two good guards ... Steinbach is old and his day has past us.

If no one signs him then perhaps he can come as a back-up but that is not likely.

Dude, I have heard of him too and he plays guard. If both of us have heard of him and know what position he plays that instantly makes him the best player on team!

Sure hope this is a joke/I know his name sarcasm.

Best G on our team?

Levitre was blowing things up early in the year before injuries had him shift to LT & C.

Urbik was quite solid as well and a monster when pulling, something I question whether Steinbach could do.

Rinehart added nice depth and looked good at swing showing he was coming back from the same broke leg injury Wood had.

Right now Buffalo has 3 solid G with experience in the system all around 26 YO, add in Wood at C and that's a solid,YOUNG interior.

Depending on cost maybe the swing/3rd tackle but best G on the team is a BIG reach IMO

Sorry but Steinbach > Levitre...not by a lot, but he is IMO. Steinbach is certainly better than the rest of the guards on the team and he is not that old. He is old for a RB, not an OG. You start 2 G's, a OL of (rookie LT like Martin), Steinbach, Wood, Levitre and who ever we tab as our starting RT would be quite formidable.

If not by a lot, why bother bringing an older guy and sending one of our already good guards to the bench?

Because you start two guards not one...I said he was better than Levitre, but it was close...I then said he is definitely better than the other guards on the team...thats why you bring him in. Not to mention, we desperately need depth all along the OL, so our other guys provide depth.

Like you said, it's your Opinion. I think Levitre>Steinbach, and Urbik=Steinbach.

I'll take a healthy, young Levitre/Wood/Urbik trio that played together and know each other every Sunday over moving one of them to the bench for Steinbach.

Particularly after seeing his season was ended by a back injury last year

Can you point to specific areas of his game that make him such a leap above the rest of the lineman and give examples of this play?

how many Gs a team needs? we are set there..........

I don't know man. An interior O-line of Levitre, Wood, and Steinbach would be pretty formidable.

Yes it would...thats all I was saying, especially given he is a 31 year old vet we could probably get him at a reasonable price. Anyway, just thought he would be a nice affordable addition to a team that was decimated at OL last year because of poor depth.

The only time the interior really struggled was when Wood went down and they tried Levitre at C. When it was a Combination of Wood, Levitre, Urbik or even Rinehart the center of the line was Solid. The Depth was there at G, it was at LT that killed them (getting down to a third option in Levitre), so unless Steinbach can be a starting LT he's a luxury. Especially when you consider the fact he had back surgery to end his season last year.

See thats where we differ...IMO, the line greatly benefited with Fitz getting the ball out fast. The interior did not hold up consistently when Fitz didnt get rid of the ball fast which also affected our inability to go down field which handicapped our offense a lot last year.

So, to me, the OL, specifically on pass protection, was a bit over rated and was compensated through getting the ball out as fast as possible making us more of a finesse team rooted in timing. Not saying our guys are not good, but to add a solid vet to our young line to me would be a nice addition.
