atlbillsfan1975 Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Which would actually would explain the shoulder injuries (lack of strength, trying so hard he injuries himself). Anyway, i'm just being worried about LT becoming a hole again when it finally started to brighter (injury aside). Guess you guys are right. Your are 100% right to be worried about a void at LT. But with the news we are hearing now, Buddy is trying like heck to get his DE and WR in FA. If he can get Meachem and Williams to sign. Then LT in the first at #10 looks pretty nice. Grab you another olb or DE in the second, and suddenly this team is resembling a force to be reackoned with.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Sign Bell, sign Carl Nicks....and forget about oline the next 5 years. Bell-Levitre-Woods-Nicks-Hairston with Urbik and Rhinehart providing depth You would need to re-sign Wood and Levitre in the next year or so. Nicks is going to get $6M-$8M per year. Lot of money in that O=Line. As Nucci states, we sign someone like Carl Nicks (God, no, please) and you lose Wood and/or Levitre… two of the best young O-linemen in football.
eball Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Bell reportedly visiting the Cards today. Safe to say his days in a Buffalo uni are over?
marauderswr80 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 So he might be protecting Mannings blindside?
Don't stop billievein Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 That would not be good for manning. Let him go, we can get a good LT in FA or the draft. I'm not concerned about him leaving.
bladiebla Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 That much was clear by him not responding to the Bills offer and the Bills not tendering him imho. He's testing the waters. If he comes back it wont be a huge contract, decent, not huge.
KollegeStudnet Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 If he does sign with the Cards, good luck to him! He is a good kid.
bouds Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 (edited) There are no good LTs in free agency, so we're going to have to draft one. Edited March 14, 2012 by bouds
Deep2Moulds46 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 As long as he doesn't leave town....I think we're in good shape. Just don't let him get on a plane!!!!!!!! (oops, sorry, wrong conversation)
Toshiero Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 He'll be injured by week 3 Exactly. Look the guy was average and never came close to living up to 'potential'. Time to draft a top guy at #10 and quit hoping lesser guys will pan out.
PISSCHUNK Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 .. along with two other OL. Word is they prefer Bell if they don't re-sign Levi Brown which isn't expected. Late
VirginiaMike Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Demetrius Bell is the next Jonas Jennings. I think this is a good analogy. Much more the next Jennings rather than the next Peters. At least Bell didn't cost the Bills a 3rd round draft choice like jennings did.
Stealth Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Demetrius Bell is the next Jonas Jennings. good analogy. Decent player when Healthy but has problems doing so
Pirate Angel Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Good decision not to lock him up, Hairston will be better and theres better options out there.
Sisyphean Bills Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Demetrius Bell is the next Jonas Jennings. with a lower ceiling.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Actually I think Bell's a more talented athlete than Jennings. Luckily for Jennings he became even more injury prone only after signing his free agent deal. If Bell had managed to stay relatively healthy, I don't think the Bills would have let him hit the market. Nix has said more than once that they like him as a football player.
