NoSaint Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I don't care what SF thinks. They need to get with the times. The rest of the NFL thinks the going rate for an average to above average QB is 10 million per season. Ok. I wasn't saying it's my opinion. I believe the reasoning is that he's not above average in their eyes. Of course in negotiations with their own guy they are going to find ways to argue other contracts pay too much.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I'd read that the hangup between Alex Smith and the Niners was the length of contract… that Smith wanted 5 years and the Niners were only offering 3 years.

That's part from what the pft article said - he wants length and dollars from fitzs deal and they don't love either Again, pft so.....
KD in CA Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Mark Sanchez's extension not quite as large as previously thought. According to the New York Daily News, Sanchez is only getting $2.75 million more in guaranteed money during the next two seasons than he would have before the extension ($20.5 million combined in 2012 and 2013 as opposed to $17.75 million with the old contract). Plus, as Pro Football Talk reports, the new contract frees up $6.4 million in New York salary cap space for 2012. Yup; nothing has changed. Sanchez still has two more years to prove he's the guy or the Jets will dump him. If they could have gotten Manning now they would have, but absent that they have no other options for 2012.
bklnpete Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 If the reports are true - the NYETS wanted Manning and or RGIII... now they settle on the guy they wanted to replace!!! TOO damn funny. Trent Dilfer won a SB. Your point is ? This is a Bills fan site where Bills fans are criticizing Sanchez' abilities. I, as did others, reminded Bills fans that Sanchez under center for Jets beat us 5 out of 6 tries. I also stated that he did in fact, check his stats in those games, have something to do with it. Yes, Dilfer won a SB and I would have gladly played him over Kelly if it meant the Lombardi trophy was coming to Buffalo. My point: it's about WINS.
