ganesh Posted December 27, 2004 Share Posted December 27, 2004 The local radios in pittsburgh was reporting that Bettis was questionable for this week's game against buffalo and Bettis himself talked and mentioned about a bad ankle and that his status for the upcoming game was in the air. We will probably see a huge dose of Vernon Haynes this coming sunday. Of course the local radio announcer keeps mentioning that the bills need to win and need Denver to lose without mentioning that a Jets loss with a bills win gives them a playoff spot... gantrules Posted December 27, 2004 Share Posted December 27, 2004 The announcer on my way to work this morning kept saying "No matter what happens the Bills will end up playing the Colts in the playoffs if they get in. So we are going to talk about the possibilities of the Colts/Bills game rather than the game this week." I'm thinking to myself....something doesn't seem right. But, I fell for it. UConn James Posted December 27, 2004 Share Posted December 27, 2004 Bettis has been a Buffalo-killer in the past few games vs. Pitt. No matter if everyone thinks he's in decline, or he's a back-up. Whatever. He always put up big numbers. It's just something about a back that has that particular combination of speed, size and a low center of gravity that is hard to tackle. An injury to him, not to wish for anything serious tho, would be good news for the playoff chances.
