James Cameron going deep

Yah, that's WAY too scary. At that depth, what's the likelihood of getting a rescue if stuff goes wrong? -It's freezing, there's no sunlight, and the pressure exerts enough force to crush you like a soda can.

Hats off to guys like Richard Branson and James Cameron. They're both really good at pushing things to the limit.

There's no rescue.

Zero chance.

And it's not "freezing", it's 37 degrees Fahrenheit. Though if the submersible gets crushed, he'd be incinerated anyway.

But it's not like it hasn't been done before, either. You basically just sink to the bottom, sit there and watch, then release your ballast and float back up.

Don't know much about Branson, but Cameron's a pretty impressive guy.

Congratulations, you must not be living in a bubble.

My ex wife worked for Branson -- he's quite a character. Nearly killed himself trying to become the first to circumnavigate the globe in a balloon. Steve Fossett eventually beat him to it.

As far as killing himself, or circumnavigating the globe?
