Have a cousin staying in the Falls Ont. Friday night with his girl friend. Both about 40, and looking for a nice place for a meal. I know nada over there outside The Downer, Mints, and the Keg in the Embassy Suites.

Any suggestions...and no the The Downer and Mints are not going to work

If they don't mind dropping some $, I highly recommend "AG" at the Sterling Inn and Spa. Can't remember the street name but it sits right off Clifton Hill. The Fallsview casino is about a 10 minute walk, all the Clifton Hill stuff less than 5. As far as the restaurant, it's very highly rated on TripAdvisor. Wife and I celebrated our anniversary there last fall and loved it. One of the best meals I've ever had. We both did the chef's 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings. All the dishes were unique and wonderfully prepared with lots of locally grown/raised items. Great service, ambiance, and overall experience. I'd describe it as "untouristy". Expensive but well worth it!

Drive N, along the Gorge on the Canadian side, to Niagara on the Lake. It's about 6-7 miles N after you go under the Lewiston/Queenston bridge.

It's quaint (I know quaint = $$$) but if any of your guests are female they will like it. There are a bunch of nice restaurants there, and their "Main Street," and the streets between there and the River, is a nice walk, depending on the weather of course.

It you go in the Summer, the Jet Boats on the river are great!

niagara on the lake...try the Oban Inn or Prince William. Some of the wineries have outstanding dinner plans as well. If you have time take a look at the wineries. Some of the best ice wine you will find anywhere. Worth the drive.
