Just Jack Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Bills just went up 38-35. Hope they win! Kelly must have lit it up during the 1st half, and Houston is slowly climbing back.
Danny Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I was watching this earlier and even knowing the result, i was still getting annoyed with the Bills D in the first half. Marv went for it on 4th and 5 in the 3rdQ. Balls.
Ramius Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 The best part about that game is that if you ask around buffalo, about 500k people attended and everyone stayed the entire time.

Direhard Fan Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Thats only the 10th time I've watched that and I still love every minute of it. Actually alot of fans left at half time and were listening on the radio and tried to get back in. They could not. I watched every minute. Alot of my friends out of town turned it off really mad and have kicked them selfs ever since. We need to get back to those days.
Buftex Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I remember watching that game, right before my ex, became my ex...we hadn't talked about splitting up yet, but it seemed inevitable...one of the things she hated most about me, was my love for the Bills... and she only knew me during the "glory years" of the late 8o's, mid 90's. Imagine if she had been around for the 2-14 years, or this last decade? She didn't hate the Bills, mind you, but she hated the fact that I would "waste" every gorgeous Sunday afternoon watching a football game...she thought it was cute at first...then she grew to despise it. Anyway, that day, I just watched the game, at home, alone. She was walking in and out of the house, doing yard work, washing her car...I was sitting inside, curtains closed to block out the sunshine, watching the Bills get their asses handed to them. Every time the Oilers scored, and it looked more hopeless, I kept asking myself, "should I just turn it off, and go out and help her?" I had determined, if they didn't score early in the 3rd, my 1992 season with the Bills were over...then Reich throws a pick 6 on the opening drive of the half...then I started thinking.. "okay, maybe that will wake them up...just get a few td's to make this thing a little more respectable"...then, next thing I know, a full blown comeback was on, and I never stopped watching. She chuckled anytime I got a little excited, cuz we both knew there was no way they were coming all the way back...when they did, I will confess, I got teary eyed...only time in my adult life a sporting event got me chocked up...not bawling mind you...just teary eyed. I guess part of me thought, if the Bills can come back from that, surely I can save this relationship...well, as you know, the Bills never won a Super Bowl, and we split in June of that year...ultimately unsatisfying as my relationship with her, and the Bills would end up, I have more great memories of both, than bad ones. I wouldn't turn the set off on either, until they were really done.
Direhard Fan Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 BUFTEX I had tears in my eyes just reading your comments. I've been there since 1965 and have cried about OUR team many times. No shame in that. Now my 2nd wife just laughs when I screem and yell at the TV. Thank goodness for Sunday NFL ticket. Makes you want to SHOUT.

plenzmd1 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 This thing always records , and uf i end up watching i was pick something new up. Three things frm yesterday. 1) We all know a lot of calls went Bills way in that game, and lots of calls missed. I always assumed Talley got away with holding on the final interception, and. while I still thnk that, he was within 5 yards , makes the call just a tad bit harder. 2) Cant say for certain, but I am pretty damn sure we lose that g ame if replay was around.. 3) Christie was only 50% from 30-39 yds that year.... 3 of 6

Just keep in mind that rules change each year. What may be a penalty now, was not back then, or how it is determined/enforced could have changed.

But hey, the good guys won! And we got our karmic payback a few weeks later, against the Cowboys. Just keep in mind that rules change each year. What may be a penalty now, was not back then, or how it is determined/enforced could have changed. I don't think that particular rule was any different back then...remember Oiler fan friends (I live in Texas) screaming bloody murder over Talley "mugging" the Oiler receiver on that play...
JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 remember Oiler fan friends (I live in Texas) screaming bloody murder over Talley "mugging" the Oiler receiver on that play... They called out a blantant tackle of Bruce Smith early in the 2nd half too so I figure those 2 cancelled out.
