Adam Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 He may not be a chapter member but most people associate Limbaugh with the GOP. So when Rush calls someone a slut they see it as coming from all conservatives. I would say make it clear that Rush does not speak for the GOP or really conservatives for that matter. Once that is out of the way they can push the real issue. that isn't really fair. The words came from him- nobody else.
GG Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 (edited) that isn't really fair. The words came from him- nobody else. You just don't understand. Conservatism is a euphemism for a blob of middle aged, rich, pasty white Christian guys. So if one guy says something wacky, everyone has to apologize. Edited March 9, 2012 by GG

So if one guy says something wacky, everyone has to apologize. The GOP doesn't have to apologize. You're misunderstanding me. They just have to say he's full of ****. People are going to associate what he said with the GOP whether the Conservatives like it or not. Make it clear that he does not speak for them.

I'm just trying to figure out what morons are sitting around thinking or having the conversation your post implies. Hmmm, Obama really has **** the bed & all that stuff he did to fix the economy sure did backfire. On the other hand, Rush Limbaugh called someone a slut. A SLUT!!! That's like torturing puppies. I'm so torn here. Guy whose economic plan is the picture of failure or guy from the same party as a famous guy who called someone a slut. Screw the economy; Sure I need a job, but what I really need is a world where extremists can testify before congress without having anyone on the radio say mean things about them. Does it go something like that?
ieatcrayonz Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I admit it, but just to one person who I thought a little heads up might help. I guess I'm just a softie. Have I violated some code that I wasn't aware of? Regardless, I thought this was an actual dating site that would fix me up with Asian girls that would be submissive. Did I click on the wrong Icon?............................................. Top that, Crayonz. Were you trying to embed some sort of video? Anyway, no offense but if you're a softie I don't think the asian girls are going to be interested. There are drugs that can fix that but don't ask the government to pay or you'll be called a slut.
3rdnlng Posted March 9, 2012 Author Posted March 9, 2012 Now here's a women (?) worthy of a Bill Maher 4 letter characterzation. http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/08/10612704-want-viagra-ohio-lawmaker-wants-men-to-get-second-opinion She should be bounced from office just for the waste of time.

Slob, Darin made one slip up and called someone a slut. Now you want a whole political party to disavow him entirely? That sounds pretty harsh. If everyone who said something stupid got disavowed then this board would be left with DC Tom calling himself an idiot over and over all day long. Personally I think you laughing at my dead uncle is far worse than calling someone a slut. I never did anything to you and you slam Geno from out of the blue. You are the last one on here that should be passing judgment on people saying stupid things. I hope you aren't from Ohio but I'm sure there are Asian girls everywhere that hope you are.

How come I don't hear you suggesting the Democrats disavow Bill Maher and Ed Shultz? How come I don't hear you asking the WH to return Maher's money? Wouldn't it be a good idea to cancel Axelrod's upcoming appearance. I mean, shouldn't Democrat's make it clear that Maher does not speak for them?

Adam Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 OK keep the illusion that Limbaugh is attached to the GOP name. In the end it only comes back to hurt you. The GOP doesn't need to disavow Rush Limbaugh, any more than Muslims needed to disavow Osama Bin Laden. There is no connection on either side- except to would-be detractors. We really need to start judging people on their own actions and merits. I find both of the above examples offensive to a lot of good people.
IDBillzFan Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 But that's different man. I have no idea why....it just is. I believe the argument is that "Maher is a comedian," which is like saying Paul Dean is a nutritionist. The Louis CK stuff is starting to get wheels, and it's unfortuate because he is funny as all hell. But the stuff he wrote about Palin is pretty bad, so I'll be curious if they dump him from the upcoming corespondents dinner.

Buftex Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Now I'm setting the standards? You better hope I'm not. To paraphrase one of my favorite lines from "The Sopranos": 3rdnlng as Tony Soprano (looking out the kitchen window, talking to his daughter): "It may be 2012 out there, but in this house, it's 1954!"

Rob's House Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I do not consider the government creating more regulations to be funny. But that's just me. I think the humor is supposed to come from a contrived attempt at demonstrating a double standard where none exists.
