Where are they at? Still in colledge for next year. This draft class has me bummed out. Andre Branch and Bruce Irvin are the only speed rushers I see. Irvin has to come as a olb and Branch is boarder line De at 260 lbs. Watching Nick Perry did not excite me to much either. If a player doesn`t excite you, doesn`t have that wow factor. Why pick him. Other than receiver D.T. and maybe O.T. this years class looks boring. The 2 QB`s are out of our reach so they don`t count for us.

No offense intended here, but many folks say this every single year.

There are plenty of impact defenders, it's just that nobody knows who they'll be until they've played in the NFL. We have to count on the talent evaluators to identify them, and in more than just the 1st round too.

Yeah but I don`t. I thought Curry in the 2nd would be a good pick. But then he runs like a O-lineman. Perry looks weak. Coples looks lazy and slow . Upshaw and Ingram are short and really not that fast. Mercilus looks like good ,but is he a one year wonder. I was hoping for a 4-3 De. to show up . Mercilus and Branch and Cam Johnson look like the only worthy ones. With Branch being alittle light. Crick ...NO.

Hey, them is the breaks there are no 99% sure thing DEs this draft, last years draft was awesome pretty far into it while this one is Tier #1 AL, RG3, Kalil, Tier #2 Blackmon, Claiborne, Richardson, Reiff- then about 20-25 players who are hard to differentiate and all have some nagging doubts about.

If somehow Claiborne fell that would be a no-brainer, I think the DTs have the most talent as a position, if we were ever to make a move and get Cin 17 and 21 my preference would be one of the DTs Poe, Brocker, Cox, Still and Cordy Glenn

I think Nix is on the same page as you as far a DE's go.

Unless he is playing poker, i am getting the feeling the Bills will not take a DE at 10.

Look for an OT at 10.

I think the Bills have a rating, like all good franchises, for each player.

Then they have a need evaluation...ie- DE 1, OT 1, WR 2,LB 2,TE 3, OG 3, etc.

So if the best guy on the board is at an area of the highest need they grab him. In this example there can be two areas of 'highest need'. Thus you grab the higher rated OT then 'reaching' for a DE rated lower.

Nix and Chan also have guys that are 'franchise or elite' guys. These are guys that if they fall to you for some reason you take them. Even though it is not a high area of need.

I would agree. I guess if Blackmon falls to us they will take him, (assuming we don't get Jackson and Steve signed), otherwise I see Martin as the pick. Which is not all that bad, the DE's are all clustered so close together that we will get a good player with our Rd. 2 DE pick.

You are thinking way to hard, if we draft my signature we'll have plenty of impact players.

I am a huge Crimson Tide fan, and have watched a whole lot of Dre Kirkpatrick. I like the kid a lot, but he would be an absolutely stupid draft selection for this team.

The Bills have but 1 proven linebacker on the entire roster. Upshaw and Hightower are both going to be stars in this league imo. And, the Bills could (assuming they had a partner) trade down and select Hightower. Kirkpatrick would flounder in the secondary with no pass rush, and the Bills have none. Is he good? Yes, but it wouldn't matter on the Bills, and btw I'm not crazy about the off field problems.

Now, could the Bills be stupid enough to draft another defensive back at number 10? One would have to look at Whitner and McKelvin and say yes. The good news is that Nix wasn't there for these idiotic decisions. We have seen, year after year, how focusing on the secondary and rbs, while neglecting the front 7 and the OL, results in loss after loss.

How you could want to continue to do so is beyond my comprehension.

Sorry.

Agreed Bill...

Now if Claiborne fell I would honestly expect The Bills to Draft him...I would still not be thrilled with a CB...But anyway... B-)

Crick YES at 2 and perry benched 35 reps and 4.64 40 not to shabby, Cam would be a steal in the third.

Sorry.

We need a corner and he rocks what else do you need. Upshaw is overrated and Hightower is underated and would prefer him as our pick but he doesn't fit the speedy sideline to sideline LBs Dave likes.
