Jerry Jabber Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 WR or OT wouldn't surprise me at #10, given Nix's recent comments about a DE or OLB at that spot. The team needs a #2 (assuming Johnson is resigned) and a OT (LT).
JPS Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Brockers - He's a 3rd year sophomore with a limited resume. Exactly the kind of guy Nix has stated he wants to avoid. I watched the Georgia highlights and he looked decent, but your head is way out over your skis with a Reggie White comparison. He was handled by just a guard in most of that game. Is there a game I should look at for White's forklift move? There are too many things against us taking a 3rd year sophomore DT from a program that has a proven track record of producing DT busts for a team that doesn't need a DT. Not gonna happen.

It's time for Bills' fans to realize there isn't a defensive talent that is BPA over the OTs and WRs at the #10 pick in the 2012 draft. The only defensive player you can argue is possibly Upshaw, but he is not a pass rush specialist and in a full time 4-3 you lose emphasis on the OLB. I really don't think anyone is proposing to convert Upshaw to a 4-3 DE, so its kinda like why bother at #10 overall. Edited February 27, 2012 by Why So Serious?

So far what little I know about Brockers is that like you say, he has a very small track record and the buzz surrounding him is based more upon potential than production. Also, that he has long arms but small hands and that he hoisted the bar 19 times which isn't impressive for a 322 pounder… long arms or not. Also for those inclined to make the Reggie White comparison, White ran the 40 in 4.69 seconds. It was his combination of size (relative to his era), power, AND SPEED which made him such a formidable player. Bruce Smith, before he lost 20 pounds ran the 40 in 4.71 seconds. If Brockers is anywhere as fast as the two HOFers, only then we can start making those comparisons.

If anyone looked like #92, he should go #1 overall. I don't think Nix has the professional currency to take a guy based on potential. He needs to take guys with serious resumes....which tells me we may be looking at one of the OTs.
Trader Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 There is always a surprise pick in the top ten. Maybe there is a crazy run on LT's. Some player will fall a little. No maybe that is becuase the media thinbkis he should go higher than the scouts do. But maybe there is that player that falls. I'm hoping there is someone that would be willing to trade up even a few spots. I would take an extra second next year or a third and a fourth this year to maove and willing move back 5-10 spots. Then I would take BPA be it DE, OLB, WR, or LT. Poe moved into the top ten . I think Upshaw has moved out of the top ten. I think Coples will be there at 10 I hope we pass on him or trade out of the pick.
PDaDdy Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I love it! The overwhelming popular choice is to trade back. Any idea who out there wants to move up to #10? I haven't heard any buzz at all!

I know. My post #2 was. D'uh its trade back but why bother have that option, no one wants the #10 pick. The poll should be done again with the trade back removed and Michael Floyd added.
