Levi Adcock

Recommended Posts

What the Heck happened to Levi Adcock and Andrew Datko these guys were 1 - 2 rounders all year and then this week before the combine they drop to the 6th round  . Here's some reports on them as 6th rounders and if around latter they would be steals.

Levi Adcock 6'5" 318

Natural athleticism shows in pass protection. Good knee bend and fluid lateral movement in his slide, mirrors any college end. Maintains balance throughout slide, allowing him to shut down inside lane. Willing to attack his man instead of waiting on him, will punch multiple times. Picks up edge blitzers well; does not panic, simply changes angle needed to pick them up while maintaining bend or uses his length to hold off defender until he gets his feet underneath him....

Andrew Datko 6'6" 321

Finesse pass blocker who shuffles back off the snap and patiently waits for the pass rusher to come to him. Good lateral agility to remain square to the pass rusher. Uses his long arms to "catch" his opponent and is able to contain stronger opponents due to his use of leverage, as well as good balance and mobility. Lacks the sand in his pants scouts prefer, but can anchor effectively due to his leverage and good core flexibility. Bends at the knees and waist, which some offensive line coaches will not like. A bit inconsistent with his hand placement due playing so low. Can get his hands too low on the defender, leaving himself vulnerable to a good swim move. Alert pass blocker who recognizes and reacts well to stunts....

looks like Levy hurt his knee but man that is a big drop.

"Adcock had an inconsistent senior season, so playing in Mobile at the Senior Bowl could have helped his draft stock. In the early through middle portion of the 2011 season, Adcock had some struggles with speed rushers, but he finished the season strong against Oklahoma and Stanford. Adcock decided not to attend the Senior Bowl because of a knee injury. Every year there are draft prospects who play through minor injuries at Mobile to help themselves, but, at the same time, the extent of Adcock's knee injury is unknown. In speaking to some scouts, the consensus is that the 6-foot-5, 318-pound Adcock will have to play right tackle or guard in the NFL. With the Cowboys, he played both left and right tackle.

If Adcock's knee injury prevents him from working out at the combine, it will could scare off a lot of teams. That was the case last year with Clemson defensive end Da'Quan Bowers ,and he was a much higher-ranked prospect than Adcock. If he checks in healthy in Indianapolis that will be a good start. If Adcock performs well at the combine, while also having a strong showing at his pro day, it could ensure that in the 2012 NFL Draft he is a selection on Friday night. Right now, there are a lot of unknowns with Adcock that are clouding his draft status."

Datko has the dreaded p-word, but thats about it. He was a very goot tackle down here for multiple years...when he could stay healthy. The problem is, he can't. He was plauged by injuries almost his entire time here at FSU. At the high-end, he could be a Jonas Jennings type. An above average OT who has problems staying on the field for more than 8-10 games per season.
