Just Jack Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 http://shopping.yahoo.com/articles/yshoppingarticles/805/best-canned-beers-to-drink-now/ Pabst Blue Ribbon Because it's cheap. Because it's everywhere, because cans are easy at bars, and because that's okay. It comes in glass too, but that just looks wrong. One to Avoid? Genesee Cream Ale Thick but flat, bitter but creamy. It's cheap and it's nostalgic and like so many sorta disgusting things, it's a classic. So if you're going to partake in this oddly named product, first introduced in 1960, do so out of a can.
KD in CA Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I got some Dale's as part of my Valentine's Day beer medley. Guess I better get drinking!

Dammit, I knew I forgot something last week while in WNY. Why didn't one of you morons suggest I drink a Genny Cream?
Just Jack Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 Dammit, I knew I forgot something last week while in WNY. Why didn't one of you morons suggest I drink a Genny Cream? Because we knew your reply would be..... "Thanks for the advice but I don't need advice. I would never drink that swill."
Chef Jim Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Because we knew your reply would be..... "Thanks for the advice but I don't need advice. I would never drink that swill." No it would have been: Thanks for the advice but I don't need any advice. Why would I need advice to drink the best beer ever brewed by mankind!
boyst Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Fat tire is good Favorite beer is Allash White.
muffmonster Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I got some Dale's as part of my Valentine's Day beer medley. Guess I better get drinking! You can't go wrong with Dales or any beers from Oskar Blues. Caldera makes some amazing beers all in a can, but very hard to come by in these parts.
drinkTHEkoolaid Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I thought it was going to be that generic yellow can that says BEER on the side and nothing else.
NoSaint Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 My locals are abita (much more widespread) and Nola (emerging new craft) - both tasty if you find them
Johnny Hammersticks Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Simpler Times Pilsner is great and cheap...I think like 3.99 for a 6 pack. The only place I can find it is at Trader Joe's. If you have one near you I suggest you pick some up
The Poojer Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 PBR has become a very 'hip' beer in recent years. Not sure why. Just read an article thst said the new owner if pabst is very interested in acquiring smaller craft breweries...i am not opposed to this as long as he maintains the integrity of the individual beers which he indicates he wants to do.
CowgirlsFan Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 What are your thoughts on the Ommegang beer? In 99.my family took a tour of the brewery after our day at the Baseball Hall of Fame.
millbank Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 old Milwaukee ice by sleeman brewery , 5.5 % alcohol content and inexpensive. Actually decent beer sells out at brewers retail regularly. a few of these and you end up with a numb nose and hungry as anything, but in morning feel just fine.....
Jim in Anchorage Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I thought it was going to be that generic yellow can that says BEER on the side and nothing else. God I remember seeing those at the lake avenue Tops 30+ years ago. They still sell it?
plenzmd1 Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 What are your thoughts on the Ommegang beer? They missed 21st Amendment Beers, especiaaly the Brew Free or Die IPA on this list..and i have never seen Fat Tire in a can.

The website below was quite handy when I was looking for Oktoberfest/Marzen beer in a can for an Oktoberfest party I threw. The facility I rented only allowed canned beer. http://www.craftcans.com/db.php?cat=style Otherwise, I don't drink canned beer too much - other than your mass-produced lager on the golf course.
