Brandon Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 No. We will not know that for sure for at least another week, though I'm pretty sure that it will have to be the 19th overall pick or lower, just looking at other teams' records.
Mark VI Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 nm. 180067 Somewhere in the 20's in Round One, about the exact same position J.P. was picked this past year. Dallas' own #1 will be much higher. As someone who follows the College game, this upcoming draft is weak in QB depth. The depth at most every position is weaker than 2004, according to Ourlads and other draft publications.
Justice Posted December 27, 2004 Author Posted December 27, 2004 Looks like that pick was another great move by TD.
VABills Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 Well depending on how we do next week, and whether Denver or the Jets lose. It could be the final pick in the first round. At least that is what I am gunning for now.
johnnychemo Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 Looks like that pick was another great move by TD. 180074 While I like the pick, let's wait until JP has a couple of seasons as starter under his belt before we give him the accolades for this pick.
jdsmith Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 As of now Dallas gets the 23rd pick overall form us. If we get in, it will get even worse.

RkFast Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 WHY is it a great pick? Becuase it turns out to not be a high one? Becuase you, as a fan, can sleep comfortably knowing that the Bills "got one over" on the Cowboys? Because the Bills "took advantage" of the Cowboys with the trade? Or maybe its your need to see the Bills in the Top ten in the draft and you wouldnt have? Grow up.

He gotta QB with potential to be a starter and may even have gotten him cheaper than what he took from Dallas in return for and a year earlier than he would have if he had taken a Qb in this year's draft instead.

Grow up. 180104 I think what gets pushed under this talk is about Julius Jones...The guy has finally emerged as a viable running back for the bills....At least for now the cowboys have JJ + 1 1st rd pick and we have JP to match it. If they unearth a studd with that 1st rd pick (even if it is in the late round) and the two players go on to be stars, then dallas gets the advantage of having 2 stars compared to 1 for us. The real value of this trade will be known in 2-3 years time.
Mickey Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 He didn't cost us a first round pick. We traded first round picks with Dallas, ours in 2005 for theirs in 2004. What we lost was our second round pick in 2004. That and the difference between Dallas' 2004 first round pick and our 2005 first round pick. Theirs was a late round pick and given our finish, our first round pick in 2005 will also be a late round pick.
Like A Mofo Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 32nd pick 180133 God I hope so!!!

This myth about us "giving up a first round pick" to get Losman always cracks me up.
