Justice
For those of you that missed Nick Barnett on Total Access on Tuesday night, here's a quick summary: Kara Henderson asked Nick why did the Bills struggle in the second half of the season after Fitzy got his new deal, Nick said that injuries was to blame and that he doesn't understand why everyone bashes on Ryan Fitzpatrick. He blamed RF's struggles on losing many offensive weapons, especially Fredex, whom by the way, accounted for 80% of the Bills offense when he was healthy. NB also said that we aren't a deep enough team to withstand those injuries and that Buddy Nix is gonna do his best to see that depth won't be an issue in the future. Brian Baldinger agreed, saying that Nick Barnett was being mild when talking about the injuries and he started to name all the guys we lost in the regular season, that's when the camera panned over to a once smiling Nick Barnett that now looked dumbfounded by all the bad luck that struck the Bills. That was about it when it came to the Bills. They asked him about Sanchez, Tom Brady's legacy, Matt Moore and Peyton Manning, after that. On Sanchez: He said the Jets beat us twice last year so he's in no position to criticize Sanchez, he also added that he'd like to see the Jets with whatever QB that gives the Bills the best chance to win. On Tom Brady: One of the all-time greats. His SB loss doesn't count against him. On Matt Moore: He would like to see MM keep his job with the Dolphins over Peyton Manning. That was about it. Wait a minute...did he cut his hair? Yeah, he cut his hair.

Justice
Fred accounted for 80% of the Bills offense? Yes, when he was healthy, according to Baldy. EDITED After further investigation, Fredex accounted for 40% of the Bills' offense. Nowhere near 80%, but still very high. Justice
80% seems a little low. After all, he was a decoy on all those other plays. Someone had to fill Lee Evans' shoes. In our first 10 games the Bills rang up 3535 yards on offense, Freddie accounted for 1376 yards of that for exactly 39%. Pretty impressive! thewildrabbit
Fred accounted for 80% of the Bills offense? If you go back to the Thurman Thomas era Thurman did about the same, 75-80% of the offense most years. The Bills ran the ball more then they threw it a lot of those glory years, and yet Kelly gets most of the credit. Freddy was carrying the team. remember this play? down 21-3 this play sparked the entire team to a 38-35 win. After FJ went on IR the Bills HC- play caller lost his focus in the second half of the year by trying to force Fitz to win games in those crazy 4-5 WR empty backfield sets with only one decent WR.... The highest % of yards from scrimmage for him was 34.5 in '92. Where do you get "75-80%"?
BobChalmers
I can't pin that season on injuries. Now, lack of talent might have had something to do with it.... Forget the length of the list: Kyle Williams George Wilson Merriman Fred Jackson Eric Wood OLT's Bell and Hairston the same day Forget the significance of the rest - the loss of the guys above doomed the Bills' season. If that means they don't have "enough" depth, fine, but few teams if any go 3-deep at OLT or 2-deep at NT or C. In the Bills' case, the team's only returning pro-bowler and the team's only 1st-rounder on the OL.
