drinkTHEkoolaid Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 One of the things about WW1 that amaze me is the mentality that it was perfectly ok to shell your enemy with mustard gas but that in the air pilots demonstrated remarkable chivalry towards their foe.
Jerry Jabber Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 My Great-Grandfather served in WWI and died in 1983. It's sad hearing that there are no more WWI vets around. I always found this story from WWI to be very interesting: http://blogs.smithsonianmag.com/history/2011/12/peace-on-the-western-front-goodwill-in-no-mans-land-the-story-of-the-world-war-i-christmas-truce/
Dave_In_Norfolk Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Vote aircraft for what? I think they had machine guns on them, didn't they?
DC Tom Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 I think they had machine guns on them, didn't they? Some of them. Lots of times, they just threw bricks and chains at each other. Kinda like the Greasers and Socs. But in the air.
BillsWatch Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Douche isn't the right word. Tom is like the brilliant surgeon with the poor bedside manner. He may consider you to be an idiot and not worthy of conversation, but that doesn't mean you're not fortunate to have him around Are you saying he is like 'House' and is being canceled?
Jim in Anchorage Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Vote aircraft for what? As being cool. Who cares about a bulldozer with a cannon on it.
