jumbalaya Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Bills to hire Pete as the new TE coach. Very bad move. They should put pads back on him and start him.
bmur66 Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I bet he could still fall down and get 3 yards
metzelaars_lives Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Hey, let's at least get the spelling right, OK?
JTO Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I am very excited about this addition. Now all he needs is a couple of quick Tight Ends that can take hits. Chandler was good but we still need another TE. I prefer a quicker one.

Marv's Neighbor Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 No doubt this is a great addition! Now if we can just get the ball to the TE's we'll be in business.
gobillsinytown Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Buffalo News reporting that Pete Metzlarrs is new tight ends coach. They'll learn how to block at least....
swnybillsfan Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 i am very happy with this, i loved metzalaars when he played for us. hopefully it will work well.
BillsFanNC Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Since big Pete left how many pass catching TE's have we had that were worth a damn? Maybe Riemersma and Chandler to an extent this year, it's good to see Pete back home.
Fan in Chicago Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Cool. But we don't have any TEs to coach. Perhaps bringing PM indicates a new focus on the TE position. yes, gailey had a TE coach before but bringing a guy with old ties to the organization and one who worked with a good offense before (Indy) may indicate that Gailey sees the advantage of having a TE exploit the middle and soft parts of opposing Defenses. I see them drafting/acquiring speedy WRs to man the post routes and deep areas of the field while allowing the TEs to roam the middle. Attack from the back with FJax/Spiller, the deep and sideline with SJohnson+FA/draft, middle with Spiller/Chandler (?)/another TE. Now if only Fitz could consistently complete those sideline and deep routes, we would be golden.
Dorkington Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Don't get me wrong. I *like* Chandler. It just sounds like we won't be retaining him.
kabnt2005 Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Came here to post this yesterday but I was beaten to it! And it's definitely official from the team's standpoint. No need for them to be hush on it, I saw his "locker" name plate made yesterday.
apuszczalowski Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 (edited) He coached dallas clark to be a great TE....if Pete is the new TE coach i will be extremly happy Except he wasn't the TE's coach in Indy, his last job in Indy was O-line coach, and he started there as the Offensive Quality Control Coach (same as what VanPelt did here to get his start) but I thought Ralph was against hiring former players as coaches here, thats what members of the board/Ralph is cheap group have said.......... Turbosrrgood Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 From Steve Tasker's twitter account: Word has it that former roomy of mine may be the new TE coach of the Buffalo Bills! He's a really good hire. Pete Metzelaars? Sweet...Too bad Gailey hates TE's...
Astrobot Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 I hope they sign a Free Agent TE by the name of Chandler Scott Chandler 6'7" 263 You got that right. Chandler should be brought back, and I don't think Fendi Onobun and Kevin Brock will strike fear over the middle...
