Andrew in CA Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 1. Coples 2. Mercilus 3. Reiff 4. Brown 5. No one--I pray it's one of the above 4 or Upshaw.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 (edited) I'd take Hightower in a heart beat as he would fill the huge void we have at Strong side LB. At 6'4" 258 he would be our Kiwanuka (who is 6'5" 267) and give us another pass russher, strong run support and finally some one to cover a friggan TE . Are you trying to say Marrio Williams has the lowest pass rush score? If so that's nuts because he should definitely be our FA priority. as far as top 6 ( ): QB Ryan Tannehill SOLB Don'ta Hightower LT Riley Reiff DE Whitney Mercilus DE Melvin Ingram DT Dontari Poe Edited February 1, 2012 by Buffalo Barbarian
Buffaloed in Pa Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Top five wish list, in order. 1. Mercilus 2. Nick Perry 3. Coples 4. Jeffrey 5. Martin It wouldn't kill me to see: Zack Brown Michael Floyd Vinny Curry in the second round. You read my mind brother. Only other pick would be Burfict 1st and Curry 2nd. Sheppard sux.
thebandit27 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I think the Bills will bring in pass rush via FA so they can draft BPA at #10. Right now I would bet the Mock for 1-9, and the resulting short list of BPA's would be (all others being previously taken): Round Pick Team Selection Psn School CRI Delta ReachValue 1 1 Indianapolis Andrew Luck QB Stanford P1 +0 Value 1 2 St Louis Matt Kalil OT USC P2 +0 Value 1 3 Minnesota Justin Blackmon WRF Oklahoma State P2 +0 Value 1 4 Cleveland Robert Griffin QB Baylor P2 -4 Reach 1 5 Tampa Bay Morris Claiborne CB LSU P2 +0 Value 1 6 Washington Michael Floyd WRF Notre Dame P3 -3 Reach 1 7 Jacksonville Dre Kirkpatrick CB Alabama P2 -5 Reach 1 8 Miami Courtney Upshaw OLB34 Alabama P2 -5 Reach 1 9 Carolina Devon Still DT43 Penn State P2 +2 Value Leaving us with a choice of: Quinton Coples DE43 North Carolina Zach Brown OLB43 North Carolina Riley Reiff OT Iowa Jonathan Martin OT Stanford Alfonzo Dennard CB Nebraska Luke Kuechly ILB Boston College * Whitn.Mercilus DE43 Illinois Janoris Jenkins CB North Alabama David DeCastro OG Stanford * Melvin Ingram DE43 South Carolina Nick Perry OLB34 USC * Mike Adams OT Ohio State Donta Hightower ILB Alabama * Mohamed Sanu WRF Rutgers That's the order DraftTek has them on their BigBoard, before the Underwear Olympics. Think of this as the BPA Board according to our guys who do this for a living and many of whom were at Senior Bowl week. IMHO, I'd take Kuechly (which I learned is pronounced CAKE-lee) and Hightower off since Gailey said yesterday Shepp's his MLB. I'm taking DeCastro off, because we'll fill that position internally. I'm taking Perry off (sorry people) because he drops to 30th on our BigBoard if played as a DE43. I'm looking at two CB's, three OT's, three DE43's, one OLB43, and one WR available at #10 pre-combine. Channix will look at which CB, which OT, and which DE they like best, and it's down to 5-6 players. My five right now, for a solid, low risk, immediate-high-return pick, are Reiff OT, Brown OLB43, Martin OT, Ingram DE43, and Adams OT. To effectively be able to draft BPA, the Bills will be bringing in a pass rusher in FA like John Abraham (32.7 PRR*), Calais Campbell (23.5 PRR), Robert Mathis (22 PRR), and not Michael Bennett (12.5 PRR), or Mario Williams (9.2 PRR). *PRR is Pass Rush Rating from ProFootballFocus Premium. It's the sum of each player's game by game pass rush rating scores from 2011. Let's say you did bring in a guy like Mathis, so you can draft BPA at #10. Who's in your FIVE? My five right now, for a solid, low risk, immediate-high-return pick, are Reiff OT, Brown OLB43, Martin OT, Ingram DE43, and Adams OT. Astro, you know I love ya man, but barring a major injury, there is zero chance that Coples lasts to the 10th pick in the draft. That said, my top 5 choices for Buffalo would be (in no particular pecking order): Courtney Upshaw Melvin Ingram Reilly Reiff Jonathan Martin Zach Brown

metzelaars_lives Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Katy Perry Sofia Vergara Kate Upton Nicki Minaj Scarlett Johansson Halle Berry (Still makes the List) Zooey Deschanel for GFE Sofia Vergara, Miranda Kerr, I didn't think about going the super-duper model route. I have to take issue with your inclusion of Katy Perry though. Obviously she is hot, but in most pictures, she's literally not even pretty. Google pictures of her without makeup and from high school. That being said, obviously she has other things going for her.

bananathumb Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 WalterFootball now has Buffalo taking M. Ingran over Upshaw AND another DE (Branch from Clemson) in the second. Talk about going 4-3 crazy!

metzelaars_lives Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I want Alshon Jeffery at 10. Is that a bad pick?

I'm not a big makeup guy, long story short, I met Katy Perry at a Meet N' Greet with a customer and don't worry about the pictures you see on-line she stays on the list. WalterFootball now has Buffalo taking M. Ingran over Upshaw AND another DE (Branch from Clemson) in the second. Talk about going 4-3 crazy! I like Branch A LOT! He plays inside and outside Defense Line. Last year with Bowers discussion. IMO most of those highlights were Branch highlights. The Guy is a Baller. I don't think he is a pure pass rushing RDE but he could be a nice long term Kelsay replacement/upgrade and can be shifted around inside and outside in different packages. As you would want Dareus inside on most plays but have the flexibility to put him on the outside on some lays. You can see him and Branch stunting or shifting on certain plays. That idea just puts a smile on my face. Although it still doesn't solve the OLB problem. However in a 4-3 it automatically becomes less of a problem. I would not mind Branch as the second round pick one bit. Edited February 1, 2012 by Why So Serious?
KOKBILLS Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Buddy already has stated that If there's a tackle there that fits what where looking for where going to take a tackle.....He has telegraphed this stuff before. How many times did we here water bug before we drafted CJ, or were going big on defense before we got Dareus. If Reiff is there I bet he becomes a Bill. Buddy did say that, but considering the fact that the likely Starter at LT for The Bills in 2012 was a 4th Round Pick (I'm assuming Bell will not be back), I think he was more or less saying The Bills would Draft an OT somewhere...I'm not so sure it's going to be in the 1st Round...I'm even less sure it will be Reiff...There is some real debate over whether or not Reiff has the athleticism to be a Franchise LT...There seems to be no question he'll start and be a good Player...But if enough Teams see him as a RT only Prospect he's going to slide a bit...Not as much as Bulaga, but a bit...And if the Bills are one of those Teams that see Reiff as more of a RT, they won't Draft him at #10...Period... We'll see though...If any Team from 1-9 sees Reiff as a Franchise LT he'll surely be gone because it's such and important Position...And if he's there at #10, and The Bills Draft him, he better strap it on because he's going to play a lot as a Rookie...In the end though, because they have Harrison, I think The Bills go elsewhere at #10...Not that a player like Reiff, Martin, or even Mike Adams would not improve the O-Line at LT...But the other pressing needs on Defense, and at WR, make it more of an outside chance IMHO...
1B4IDie Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Based on the rest of his list, I don't know if WSS has ever really gotten as far up as Perry's face. Good observation when it comes to drafting talent I'm all about tangibles.

I agree with most of this but there are two factors to consider. 1.) Look at the past 5 years of draft history. Buffalo was never really in a position to draft an elite LT prospect. Yes many of them may not have been studs but Buffalo was never in the running. This year it is shapping up to maybe have Martin or Adams available when the Bills pick. Then you have Rieff which I'm not as bully on as a LT. But the Bills will need to vet that out. 2.) Look at the WR or DE available when the Bills pick. Coples* has work ethic questions. Then Ingram? Ingram would have been a 3rd rounder like Justin Houston the 2011 drafrt. Its just not a strong draft class at DE. If Floyd or Jeffrey are there at 10 then that is a real opportunity. But if you're looking at BPA its hard to argue that Martin and Adams aren't pure head and shoulders BPA over any of the defensive prospects available at 10. Like hands down no objection Martin is a better prospect than Upshaw, Coples or Ingram. In summary I want the Bills to get better on defense I also want them to get better in general and make the most of the #10 overall pick. LT is likely the real undisputible pure BPA especially if the draft plays out like Astro posted. Grab a franchise LT if you get the chance. That gives the Bills 3 Top 40 picks on your O-line plus Reihnert and Urbik so the O-line sucks talk can officially be killed. * If Coples doesn't really have work ethic issues and the Bills do their due diligence and there is nothing to worry about and if the Bills lose out in Free Agency for DE pass rusher then Coples jumps to #1 with a bullet. Although from a fan perspective it'll be hard to make this determination unless you go interview all his coaches. Edited February 1, 2012 by Why So Serious?
purple haze Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 This list would change depending on what goes on in FA, but here goes: 1. Upshaw 2. Coples 3. Ingram 4. Kirkpatrick 5. Jeffrey/Floyd
KOKBILLS Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I want Alshon Jeffery at 10. Is that a bad pick? Nope...At least not IMHO...That's who I want too...Like I said earlier in this thread I'm assuming he comes to the Combine and his Workouts in great shape and all...I think he's a major talent...Top 5 talent if he runs in the 4.5's...
