So I watched th Senior Bowl game. Not a huge College Football guy, but since this draft is so important for the Bills (Heck they all are) I figured I'd DVR it and watch when the kiddies were in bed. Coples if he can play like he did in the gamne MUST be our pick. There was nothing he couldn't do. He can line up at LDE, RDE and NT if needed. Seconf place (using the bowl game as my only indicator) was Ingram. He was also a force, but Upshaw wasn't heard from much. I also like that kid Vinny Curry. Apparently, I am reading that most scouts leave before Thursday's practice as the game itself with its limits on schemes isn't a good gauge. Well, that may be so, but from what I saw Coples is the guy we should take.

Dont make your decisions based on a Senior Bowl.

None of our prospective DEs looked good yesterday. Between the rules that restrict the defense, and everyone playing it safe so theyre not injured before the draft, it isnt a good example of how they play.

I turned it off at the half after it was obvious everyone was playing at about 3/4 speed.

Once upon a time the Bills took a kid in the first round that had three sacks in the Senior Bowl that turned out to be a bust. His name is Erik Flowers. I wouldn't put too much stock in a one game performance.

Buffalo Bills: Morris Claiborne CB LSU - Really?

You really think we need a CB before a pass rusher? Maybe, but I'm of the school of thought that says your secondary is as good as your front 4 .. I say the Bills lose big if we don't take a DE/OLB at number 10.

Well I think we're moving back to the 4-3 (officially) and I'm having a hardtime talking myself into any of the DE's besides Coples there.

Watched Coples on film. I thought he was OK on the outside

but felt that when he lined up on the inside he got handled.

I still believe that a quality O-Linemen will be available.

I don't think Claiborne will be available at the Bills' pick, but if he is, I could not fault the Bills for

taking him over ANY of the DE/OLBs in this draft. Claiborne is one of the very few elite players in

this draft. While CB isn't as big of a need as a pass rush or LT, it still is a need. I am not

sure that Upshaw or Ingram will be difference makers in the NFL, but I think that Claiborne will

be.

ingram or upshaw will be just fine at DE in 4-3 if we cant land coples... secondary will be easier to fix if we have pass rush.. already have 2nd round pick we used last yr in williams and rogers will be i our 4 db packages and is gonna be our KR.. we bring back one of are current guys in mcgee mcelvin who is still under contract and still has potential if we have a rush and floyrence.. cant stand mcgee, always hurt and well past his prime and floyrence gets flagged 2 much.. we can easily sign a vet for something reasonable... giants have proved that a good pass rush trumps all... we havent had a good edge rusher since we lost schobel and this is by far our biggest need.. and even schobel wasnt a star.. we need a top notch DE and all 3 of those guys fits the bill..

I'd like to see a highlight reel containing all of Upshaws sacks in his career. I couldn't find any (doubt it exists). I love the kids size, leadership and intensity but I can't seem to find any highlights in which he actually beats and OL with a move to get a sack. Every time I watched a Bama game, all of his sacks came from rushing in unblocked. Not to say he doesn't have good moves, but I just haven't seem many. If we draft him, I'll be happy, but until I see him get a couple sacks by beating an OL, I have to be little skeptical that he will the answer to our lack of pass rush.

Coples looked better in the senior bowl than he did all year. Pass. Vinny curry looked good for sure. His big knock is stamina. Almost looks like a situational pass rusher at this point. If he's out there on non passing downs he might blow his energy before he gets a chance to rush the qb. I'd be very happy of he drafted Ingram. Love everything about the guy. If we were to draft a pass rusher with our first pick, at this point I'd say Ingram would be my first choice. That could change as I see more, but I think he's gonna be a very good player.

If we took Morris Claiborne, rest assured that we got a very good player that will help our team for years. Not the biggest need, but if he's on the board when we pick, he'd most likely be the bpa

probably the biggest red flag on coples is that people have already questioned his work ethic and he has been perceived by some as a bit lazy during his college years. no thanks to that.
