SageAgainstTheMachine Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 It's disturbing to know that people like this guy exist.
The Poojer Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Why found guilty in 2009, sentenced nov 2011? What a f***ed up system we have...
DC Tom Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Why found guilty in 2009, sentenced nov 2011? What a f***ed up system we have... Depending on the state, if he were sentenced to death, it could require a completely separate hearing with a completely different jury. Which is not necessarily quick.
The Poojer Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Still...2 years for sentencing is too long... Depending on the state, if he were sentenced to death, it could require a completely separate hearing with a completely different jury. Which is not necessarily quick.
Captain Hindsight Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Why found guilty in 2009, sentenced nov 2011? What a f***ed up system we have... Endless appeals system
The Poojer Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Again...f***ed up...now as he points out there is a slim chance his sentence will be carried out within 20 years...if at all... Endless appeals system
Doc Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 It has been said that it costs more to execute someone than to incarcerate them for life. Not sure if that's true, but the 20 years this is pretty much dead-on, so to speak.

Sometimes we try to be too humane when people do horrible horrible things, we have to give them "dignity"
The Poojer Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 much like the flap over the marines peeing on the koran(?) recently? The Military & the Prison System needs to be better than the people they are dealing with, we cannot get down to their level...I support that mindset, but this just seems to be out of control.... I dont understand that. Sometimes we try to be too humane when people do horrible horrible things, we have to give them "dignity"
Just Jack Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Wait, can anyone get these benefits? It sounds better thant current living arrangement.
Kevin Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 This guy has a better life than some "free" people do. Sickening but true.
C.Biscuit97 Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I dont understand that. Sometimes we try to be too humane when people do horrible horrible things, we have to give them "dignity" I just know if I was sentenced to life in prison, I'd want the death penalty. Personally, I think we should ship all murderers and rapists to Antarctic and let the strongest survive. Tell me that won't be a great reality show!

I think George Carlin had a routine about this, except substitute the American West for Antarctica.
