Mr. WEO Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 They weren't 100-1 prior to the season, but during their 5-game slide they were. That's why Vegas is shitting bricks over the Gints winning. And by all accounts, the Gints should beat the Pats, especially since Gronkowski won't be playing (or be effective) because of his high ankle sprain. If you see a lot of bad calls in NE's favor, it will be proof that the game is fixed. They are?? Anyway, if by ALL accounts the Giants should win, why hasn't the line moved? Where is all of the Giants money? Vegas never sh**ts bricks.
section122 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Oh I don't know... maybe SUPER BOWL XXV! I don't hate the NYG. but rooting for them to win the SB is tough. I think this is just about the only situation where I can do it. I'm aware of sb25 but the last 10 years of beatdowns at the hands of the Pats* makes me hate them WAY more. I would also root for the Giants against the Dolphins, Jets, Titans (that was a backwards lateral!), and possibly a couple others that I can't think of. The Giants definitely don't get a rise out of me like they used. They got a ton of redemption from me when I was the rooting for/ecstatic when they ruined the Pats* perfect season.
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 I would like to see a link that has them at 100-1. The worst I could find is 30-1. Also I would think if Vegas was "shitting bricks" they would have made the spread more favorable to the giants in order to encourage betting on the Pats* and minimizing their losses. BTW it doesn't need to be a lot of calls to fix this game just the right one at the right time. Holding, PI, any QB penalty all are easy judgement call flags that change momentum. IT'S A BILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY! It can't be easily dismissed that the games are somewhat fixed. What is the basis dismissing it? America's great morals? edit: correction I found 66-1 but that is the lowest I found please find me 100-1 linked http://www.sportsoddshistory.com/nfl/sb/120123.html You're correct in that it can't be dismissed. Having said that, I'm still waiting for somebody to provide something other than anecdotal evidence surrounding this supposed conspiracy. My suspicion: Everybody is on super high alert when one of the "golden boy" teams (Dallas, NE, NYJ) gets a favorable call that our perception is that it happens more often. What's the reality?

Well I sure wish it was as easy as people around here think. NE slips what, $200,000 to some game officials and the SB is a lock? I think even Ralph would call that a hell of a deal. Or is it some vast Zionist/Freemason plot? Edited January 31, 2012 by Jim in Anchorage

bigdogtim Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I'm rooting for another wardrobe malfunction at halftime. Go Bills!!!

I asked the guy at work for his source and he said he heard it on the radio... He is not the type to blow smoke. Remember when the brother in law's barber had a cousin that drove a limousine and picked up Gruden at the airport?
Doc Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I'm rooting for another wardrobe malfunction at halftime. Go Bills!!! You realize the halftime performer is Madonna, right?

Reks Ryan Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 The bleacher report can print what it wants. No actual Casino was giving 100:1 odds before or during the season on the Giants. Pre-season ranged from 25:1 to 20:1 in most Vegas spots. The Bills on the other did get 100:1 pre-seson in LV. I have the ticke to prove it.
Jim in Anchorage Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I'm rooting for another wardrobe malfunction at halftime. Go Bills!!! That was just nasty. A metal bug of some sort?
Gordio Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Super Bowl prop bets are awesome. One year I want to go to Vegas and watch the game in a sport book after making about a hundred prop bets. Last year we were at the Mirage for the super bowl & my friend put $50 on every prop bet on the board. There was probably 35-40 of them. I think he put in close $2,000 worth of prop bets. At the end of the game he went to cash in the tickets, to see what the damage was. He actually won $10.75.
Gordio Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Then why not always bet on NE? According to the analysts here, they spread more grease then the Teamsters. NE only went 10-8 ATS this year. I would have to think the league really does not care who wins this game unless they are getting greased by the Casinos in Vegas to effect the outcome. Which is entirely possible.
Gordio Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Well I sure wish it was as easy as people around here think. NE slips what, $200,000 to some game officials and the SB is a lock? I think even Ralph would call that a hell of a deal. Or is it some vast Zionist/Freemason plot? Look, I am not saying that the super bowl fixed. With that being said with around a Billion dollars changing hands on the outcome of this game give or take $100 million, you would also be pretty naive not to think that there is a possibility of outside influences paying to effect the outcome of the game.
truth on hold Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 (edited) Serious questions about Gronks health make me that much more confident in giants. Right now I have them anywhere from 7 to 11 point victor. Edited February 2, 2012 by Joe_the_6_pack
