If the draft is "deep", then what would be the motivation for a team at , say 22, wanting to trade up to #10. In a deep draft they, essentially, swap #1s and give up two other picks.... again, in a "deep draft". It ain't making sense to me unless #10 is a freaking lights out super star. The only way I can see any team trading up is if Trent Richardson is still on the board I think we can pull it off. This might be a reach, but pre-combine nothing is for certain. This sounds right to me if somehow Richardson falls to ten we'd have some pretty good offers - I think the chances of that are pretty slim- but Cincinnati giving us 17 and 21 for say 10 and our 3rd round pick might be nice. You never know who is high on someone's board, so it all remains to be seen. It could happen, but if Upshaw is there (he won't be) and he is your guy, why trade out? I'm all for it by the way, but I think most people expect to rob a potential trade partner blind. Most often when the final talley is taken on these scenarios you're just as well off if you sit there and take the more lauded player. The Bills have existed in the NFL for too long trying to get by with the bargain basement versions of NFL players. It's time to start putting some legitimate players on the field. smapdi Posted January 23, 2012 Share Posted January 23, 2012 Every year I read about the "mythical" trade down move. It rarely ever happens and even rarer will the Bills make that move. It takes two to tango and it can be very difficult to find the right mix of assets and willingness to make a trade. I would rather have a top 10 player then trade out of there myself. If there is somebody there you like at 10, you take him. No sense in risking losing the guy you want for an extra 3rd round pick IMO.
