mob16151 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 You do have to find someone, who wants to trade up to ten. And that might be a problem.
Dr. Trooth Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 This draft is too deep, would you rather have 1 guy in the top ten or 2 possibly 3 guys in the top 40? easy answer. If the draft is "deep", then what would be the motivation for a team at , say 22, wanting to trade up to #10. In a deep draft they, essentially, swap #1s and give up two other picks.... again, in a "deep draft". It ain't making sense to me unless #10 is a freaking lights out super star. And, if that's the case, why the hell would there be any suggestion of trading down?
ryan42790 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I like the idea of trading down. The only way I can see any team trading up is if Trent Richardson is still on the board I think we can pull it off. This might be a reach, but pre-combine nothing is for certain.
HuSeYiN1978 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 It's weird you say that cuz I don't know if it was cuz I haven't had good sleep in a couple days but last night I had a dream that we traded down... I'm no psychic but why the hell out of all things to dream about would I have THAT dream?
....lybob Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I like the idea of trading down. This sounds right to me if somehow Richardson falls to ten we'd have some pretty good offers - I think the chances of that are pretty slim- but Cincinnati giving us 17 and 21 for say 10 and our 3rd round pick might be nice.
JPS Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 It only works if there's a sepecific guy for a specific team. Like Atlanta going after Julio Jones or the Pats going after Jerrod Mayo. You never know who is high on someone's board, so it all remains to be seen. It could happen, but if Upshaw is there (he won't be) and he is your guy, why trade out?
jjmac Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 How many draft-day trades have we had since Buddy took over as GM? I really think it won't happen.
ARMchairgm Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 considering the best corner/ wr/rb could be on the board when the bills pick is the motivation for others to want to trade up
mob16151 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 considering the best corner/ wr/rb could be on the board when the bills pick is the motivation for others to want to trade up Rb maybe, but both Blackmon, and Claiborne, will be long gone by 10.
jjmac Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 considering the best corner/ wr/rb could be on the board when the bills pick is the motivation for others to want to trade up Buddy is not a big trader.
ARMchairgm Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 Rb maybe, but both Blackmon, and Claiborne, will be long gone by 10. i think jeffery will be the best wr tbh
White Linen Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 It's weird you say that cuz I don't know if it was cuz I haven't had good sleep in a couple days but last night I had a dream that we traded down... I'm no psychic but why the hell out of all things to dream about would I have THAT dream? Your english teacher had the same dream.
HuSeYiN1978 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Your english teacher had the same dream. Your mom also had a dream about me too...
Dr. Fong Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 This thread again? Must be the the off-season again. I'm all for it by the way, but I think most people expect to rob a potential trade partner blind. Most often when the final talley is taken on these scenarios you're just as well off if you sit there and take the more lauded player. The Bills have existed in the NFL for too long trying to get by with the bargain basement versions of NFL players. It's time to start putting some legitimate players on the field.
DanInUticaTampa Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 This class doesn't seem as deep as last year. I never liked the trading down or up idea. Just stay where you are and take who falls to ya.
smapdi Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Every year I read about the "mythical" trade down move. It rarely ever happens and even rarer will the Bills make that move. It takes two to tango and it can be very difficult to find the right mix of assets and willingness to make a trade. I would rather have a top 10 player then trade out of there myself. If there is somebody there you like at 10, you take him. No sense in risking losing the guy you want for an extra 3rd round pick IMO. The trade down makes sense if there is absolutely no one there that you like but that would be unlikely.
Captain Hindsight Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I think we should just not pick. Wait until later so we can draft one of those guys later and not overdraft anyone. I mean if we take a guy at 10 he could be a disappointment but if we pick him at 14 he could be a solid contributor
mob16151 Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 i think jeffery will be the best wr tbh Not a fan of Jeffrey, I don't think he plays fast, and he's allegedly a lazy/poor route runner.
