GOBILLS!!!!! Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Lets GO Braves! Griffin, Paul, Billups and Moe Williams are legit I wish the team was still in buffalo
RyanC883 Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 would be great to have that team in Buffalo. And now they are finally good after years of being terrible. It seems every team that endured countless years of mysery has recently found success, except my Bills and Pirates
The Poojer Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Went to 76ers(former syracuse nats) game last nite...fun team w/o any 'superstars'. Lets GO Braves! Griffin, Paul, Billups and Moe Williams are legit I wish the team was still in buffalo
KollegeStudnet Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 I'm stoked! Going to LA in a few months to see them play.
K-9 Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 (edited) F*CK 'EM! They were dead to me the day Johnny Y sold the Braves and the city of Buffalo down the river. They've deserved EVERY ounce of bad karma they've had since then and I can only hope it continues. GO BILLS!!! Edited January 20, 2012 by K-9

I'm still fully expecting Blake Griffin to break his pelvis during pre-game warmups or something.
K-9 Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I'm still fully expecting Blake Griffin to break his pelvis during pre-game warmups or something. I certainly don't want to see any player get hurt and I hope nobody does, especially Griffin, who I think is a terrific player. Karma's a B word though and the Clippers are loaded with the bad kind. And for good reason. GO BILLS!!!

But the Clippers obviously aren't allowed to have two top-10 players for an entire season.
GOBILLS!!!!! Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 I would still consider it a buffalo championship if they win it all since they still fit in the buffalo category as underdogs that havent won a thing haha

They've deserved EVERY ounce of bad karma they've had since then and I can only hope it continues. GO BILLS!!! /\ /\ /\ This. The San Diego Clippers. Then LA. There's nothing remotely Buffalo about that team. They even dropped the 'Braves' moniker. Even LA's other team kept 'Lakers' when they left Minneapolis and that makes even less sense than Clippers. The NBA sucks. Give me college hoops any day.
Charles Romes Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Billips seems to be the missing link wherever he goes. Guy can still play. What is he now, 42?
C.Biscuit97 Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I love the Clippers and Blake Griffin. I jsut wish their owner wasn't a gigantic piece of crap.
dave mcbride Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 If one is to follow the logic here, shouldn't we all be rooting for the Celtics? As I recall, John Y. Brown did some sort of complicated franchise swap with Boston and the Celtics ended up being the Team Formerly Known as the Braves while the Team Formerly Known as the Braves became the Celtics (at least in the corporate sense).

Dave, that is a good point, but didn't they just trade all the players? I think the franchise is still the one out in L.A. EDIT: 3 NBA rookies of the year in 5 years (73, 74, 77)...what a damn shame and crime that was committed against this city by that ownership. Edited January 20, 2012 by dollars 2 donuts
metzelaars_lives Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Went to 76ers(former syracuse nats) game last nite...fun team w/o any 'superstars'. How sick was Andre Miller in that game?
Kelly the Dog Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 If one is to follow the logic here, shouldn't we all be rooting for the Celtics? As I recall, John Y. Brown did some sort of complicated franchise swap with Boston and the Celtics ended up being the Team Formerly Known as the Braves while the Team Formerly Known as the Braves became the Celtics (at least in the corporate sense). Yep. The owner of the Celtics at the time, Ira Levin, wanted to move them to California. The league said no chance. John Y Brown had bought the Braves for like a little over $6 million dollars. But in the agreement he could pay off the amount, in cash, to the former Braves owner Paul Snyder, with money he received from selling off players. So he sold Moses Malone and McAdoo and Jim MacMillan and others, and basically got the team for free. Then nobody went to the games anymore and he had some opt out clause due to attendance. So the league agreed to the swap of franchises and a bunch of players. Brown took the Celtics and Levin took the Braves and went to San Diego. The Celtics got the Braves two biggest names and best players at the time, Tiny Archibald, who is a Hall of Famer, and Billy Knight, who they got for Adrian Dantley, who only played one year for the Braves I think. The Celts also got Bad News Barnes. The Braves, who became the Clippers, got like four Celtics including Sidney Wicks and some others. In that respect and because of all of those machinations, I never really considered the Clippers to be the Braves franchise, and still follow them. Different owner, half new starters including the best players, etc.
CowgirlsFan Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 a typical Bills like week for the Clippers.....extacy....a buzzer beater against the Mavericks....then agony....get beat by buzzer beater by the Timberwolves.
The Poojer Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Ricky Rubio seems to be the real deal, and with Kevin Love and Wesley Johnson...Minnesota is a nice team, their record doesn't indicate the talent they have.... a typical Bills like week for the Clippers.....extacy....a buzzer beater against the Mavericks....then agony....get beat by buzzer beater by the Timberwolves.

I watched that entire game...except for the last minute. 98-94 thought it was over...man, what was I thinking? it was late.

Maybe they're experiencing a little of the Buffalo curse for relocating to LALA land. Even the AUD site seems to have a bit of the old curse. I have NOT followed the NBA since we got screwed out of the Braves, and expect to do the same IF the BILLS ever leave.
