FluffHead Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Rob Lowe ( yes, that rob Lowe ) is claiming on twitter that Peyton manning is retiring. What are the chances he knows something and what are the chances this is a ploy for followers? I say 80 percent ploy, but who knows. It would be funny if some random celebrity broke this news before the insiders
Coach Tuesday Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Don't forget the Indiana connection - Peyton plays football in Indy, and Rob Lowe's fictional character on Parks and Recreation works there...
Turbosrrgood Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 (edited) Let's say he did say he's retiring...We all know that doesn't mean anything anyway... Favre, Palmer, ect... With his mangled neck, at 36, he probably should though Edited January 18, 2012 by Turbosrrgood
erynthered Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 The fact that you follow Rob Lowe on Twiter is freakin funny as hell.
FluffHead Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 The fact that you follow Rob Lowe on Twiter is freakin funny as hell. I don't follow that tool but it's been retweeted by lots of NFL sources
KOKBILLS Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Don't forget the Indiana connection - Peyton plays football in Indy, and Rob Lowe's fictional character on Parks and Recreation works there... Cracked that code easy enough!!!
erynthered Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I don't follow that tool but it's been retweeted by lots of NFL sources OK (wink, wink) I hear Ya. No problem (wink, wink).................

FluffHead Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 Do you like movies about gladiators? I'm more of a tv series kind of guy, but thanks for asking.
JinVA Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Has anybody bothered checking wikipedia to see if this is valid?
K-9 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Was on a Colts forum and there's a post with a tweet from Archie saying the rumor is untrue. GO BILLS!!!
judman Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Has anybody bothered checking wikipedia to see if this is valid? There is a lot more to the internet than Wikipedia. They might have taken a step back with this move, imo. The info. I was looking for today was found elsewhere... quickly.
Meark Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Has anybody bothered checking wikipedia to see if this is valid? Sorry Wikipedia is shut down today in protest.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:SOPA_initiative/Learn_more
LGB Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 The real story here is that Marv Levy was contacted as a possible replacement to Caldwell, but since Marv did not have his hearing aids in, he did not hear the call. ...in other news, offensive line coach Pete Metzelaars and wide receivers coach Frank Reich were released today a source with knowledge of the situation said. Those moves are likely to be followed by others on the coaching staffafter head coach Jim Caldwell was fired on Tuesday.
Pirate Angel Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 It makes sense...he has MVP awards, he in the record books, multiple pro bowls, and a Super Bowl ring. He and the rest of the Colts are aging. His necks a mess, Its a good time to walk away.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Has anybody bothered checking wikipedia to see if this is valid? They are blacked for 24 hours to make us aware of government restrictions.
Mr. WEO Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Emilio Estevez and Jud Nelson vehemently deny this rumor.
Hapless Bills Fan Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Let's say he did say he's retiring...We all know that doesn't mean anything anyway... Favre, Palmer, ect... With his mangled neck, at 36, he probably should though Agree on both points. The man has had a stellar career. If his neck is pain-free right now after surgery, why not retire and increase the odds of it staying that way? His team is rebuilding, it's not like he can contend successfully for a title in the next year or two (I think)
