The Official Mitt Romney thread

Recommended Posts

I listen to CSPAN radio... the calls fuming over Romney on the Republican line are hilarious. They call him Obama's twin brother...

Yet they'll still vote for him come election day because, well, he's more right than Obama (take that how you want to).

The reason companies want one penny more after making record profits is because there is long, dark, skeletal wasteland of companies no longer in business because someone with your line of reasoning said "You know what? This is enough. We don't need more than this."

You never stop trying to succeed. You never stop trying to outdo yourself. You should always seek a higher goal and rate of return. Always.

Because when you don't, you end up as someone like Obama, a failed leader whose most embarrassing and telling statement, as far as I'm concerned, was when he said "I do think at a certain point you've made enough money."

Anyone residing in Rochester, NY should know what happens when you say "Enough is enough. Big bonuses for all. Everybody pat yourself on the back." The bluest of blue chip firms Eastman Kodak had the game won 30 years ago. They filed for bankruptcy earlier this month, a move which would have inconceivable 20 years ago. The minute you say enough is enough is the moment you set a course for disaster.

While we in the U.S. debate whether enough is enough and flirt with our own demise, think China is looking to take their foot off the gas?

You are correct and very sad about Kodak.

Even when making record profits, businesses want that one penny more..

Please in 60 words or less explain what is wrong with this.

Even when not working, the lower classes want money.

And now in 60 words or less explain what is wrong with this.

My bad- I guess I didn't make it clear that I think there is nothing wrong with that. Like I said, corporations want more money and so do the working class. Nothing wrong with wanting something.

And I have trouble with the 60-word thing. I can be eloquent when writing a game recap, but this is not my area of expertise. I usually just give my semi-ignorant opinion.

There are pictures of him at a Planned Parenthood conference out there.

Gingrich leads among evangelical Christians with 40%, followed by Perry with 15%, Romney with 13%, Santorum with 12%, and Paul with 10%. Among likely voters saying they are not evangelical Christians, Romney leads with 48% and followed by Paul with 33%.

He can't win the general election with out these people being stampeded to the polls by the big churches.

Its difficult to say which is more hilarious;

Dave's desperation filled threads about what he, and the Left, interpret as problems for the GOP ?

or his ignorance filled cliche about Christians being "stampeded to the polls" by their leaders ?

I'll go with the latter, because his folly about "certain groups" being directed how to vote, when he stands with the Democrat Party dependents like the unions, Greenies, 99%'rs, and the rest, who brook no independent thought.

This may come as new thought to Dave, but many many Evangelicals, are Democrats, and actually don't need to be directed.

Though I agree with you that Romney can't win without these people coming to the polls in the general election the jury is still out on whether or not they will come to the polls or stay home on election day. To me that's going to be the most interesting thing to see in November assuming that Romney wins the nomination.

Newt is putting the $5 million "gift" from the Casino magnet to good work. This ad is pretty good:

Freedom fries!

I would say this has more to do with how desperate Newt is.

There are two specific groups who will not come out to vote this year like they did in 2008: youth and blacks.

You do the math.

I may agree with you about the youth, but the blacks, I´m gonna have to disagree. Think about this for a second, they are gonna feel under siege, that one of their own is being treated badly with all the attacks that will be coming from all the SUPER PACS etc. It´s gonna get ugly, and they are gonna wanna protect their own, so I expect them to come out full force.

They'll come out, but they won't come out like last time. Yes, things can definitely change and the more you hear Michelle Obama crying that she's being portrayed as "an angry black woman," the higher the chances they'll come to her rescue. So you could be more right than me at the end.

But the last I looked, black unemployment is embarrassingly high for Obama. They're not as happy with him as one might think. Peggy ain't having her mortgage paid for with Obama money, and Oprah ain't giving him a party and even Colin Powell is off the train.

That's Wall Street's fault.
