truth on hold Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 (edited) Wonder who they have in mind? Methinks Irsay has someone waiting in the wings and that's what triggered the move. I don't think he'd want to give Luck to just anyone, so Im guessing it's Cowher http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7471905/indianapolis-colts-fire-jim-caldwell-nfl-worst-2-14-season Edited January 18, 2012 by Joe_the_6_pack
mob16151 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Marty Morningweh lol. In all seriousness though apparently he's a canidate for the raiders job.

truth on hold Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 Time for Perry Fewell to get a shot at least he'll get interviewed somewhere, I would think
Buffalo Barbarian Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Cowher to the Colts would be a culture shock but many times Coaches that were great somewhere else can't reproduce the same results again. Maybe there is more house cleaning to come and we can pick Mathis up easier.

Dragonborn10 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Cowher only if Manning stays. If Manning stays they are screwed for cap space on a team with a horrible offensive line, an aging defensive line, and a terrible secondary. If Colts want to survive as a franchise they need to trade Manning or trade Luck for a kings ransom. What if Peyton can play another 4 years and they got two number ones and two number twp's plus a player or two for luck? If Manning is healthy, I would consider trading the number 1 to Cleveland for Joe Thomas and a few other picks.
truth on hold Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 But manning's old. Even if healthy his play can be expected to deteriorate
#34fan Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 John Gruden would definitely come out of retirement for this one.

What did he do?

Jim in Anchorage Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Consensus best coach available and presumed to be waiting for right opportunity to return Consensus with who? His agent and himself? Or did Kordell Stewart vote?
dhg Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 One time, he walked across water just to save a little kitten Thought that was Teddy Brushci.
KD in CA Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Explain to me precisely all the Cowher worship here. What did he do? He lost a lot of AFC Championship games at home. That oughta count for something.
Jim in Anchorage Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 He lost a lot of AFC Championship games at home. That oughta count for something. Big Ben saved Cowhers name as I recall. His Steelers[Cowhers] had the worse OL I can remember.
dpberr Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Just like Jeff Fisher, give Bill Cowher or any coach nearly twenty years, and he'll probably give you an above average result. Nothing outside old age, health issues or death, says Chan Gailey, for example, couldn't get to the same place given 15 years. Further, Cowher and Fisher inherited relatively intact and somewhat mediocre teams, not complete shipwrecks that needed a massive overhaul.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Consensus best coach available and presumed to be waiting for right opportunity to return What consensus?
