C.Biscuit97
Haha. I guarantee the guy has disappeared. I will say I made a bet with stevestojan on the Bills win total a few years ago (I took the over and won) and he manned up and paid me.

DanInUticaTampa
Not Thoner7, he's a pretty good guy from what I know of him, and would never classify him as a troll. I thought the quoted poster was talking about DreReed83. DreReed83 also challenged Thoner right in his signature, saying Cam Newton would fail. Dude hasnt been back since opening week. Yeah, I always have liked thoner. He is definently one of the better posters here. Kind of wish this happened to some other poster that actually trolls to get a rise out of people. I will say I made a bet with stevestojan on the Bills win total a few years ago (I took the over and won) and he manned up and paid me. I'll just echo this.^ I've bet stevestojan twice I believe, and he's paid promptly each time. So kudos to stevestojan and anyone else who honors their bets. Ozymandius
Kind of wish this happened to some other poster You know, it's not like I gave him cancer or something. If you look back on this thread, I didn't even make fun of him or anything like that. All I did was ask him to pays his debt, which he can certainly still do. Once he pays me, I will update the board and everyone can give him props for being an honorable guy.

You have no reason to feel bad about it, the same thing happened to me with pushthepile and I'm sure many folks thought he was a good poster. Push even said his Dad was a retired police officer. I wasn't trying to run the guy out of town(forum) but you expect people to honor there bets. Its not your fault...
Bronc24
I (idiotically) bet that Lance Kendricks would score more TD's than Jason Witten. EPIC FAIL. Cost me $50 and had to do three consecutive shots of Grey Goose. Pay the man. Edited January 19, 2012 by Marauder24

I'll keep this in mind near the draft or preseason when these bets tend to bubble up.

There is noway he could of won money on this bet as the odds were to onesided. As Tom stated Miller gets one sack & it is just about breakeven time, Miller gets 2 sacks & now he is oweing you. This guy was the 2nd friggin pick in the draft, even if he had a bad year based on his draft status one would assume he would get at least 4-5 sacks. Maybe Tboner should pay you the money out of stupidity & my initial guess is he is not a betting man but my personal take on this is that there would be no Casino in Vegas that would take this bet & the bet should be cancelled based on the fact that you took advantage of a fellow poster with these effd up odds. I am usually not one to tell people to stiff on bets but these odds were not fair, although I will say if he threw the odds out(I did not read the initial thread) then maybe he should pay you out of pure stupidity/arrogance. I agree with you, Gordio. I think the bet was made more as a way of making a point about Miller. I don't think Thoner was serious, just passionate about his stance on the matter. Then again, Ozy has a point. Best for me to stay out of it. Oops. GO BILLS!!!

The bet was made January of last year, waaay before the draft took place. It's easy to say he had no chance to win the bet now, with the benefit of hindsight. But back then, there were a lot of people convinced Miller was going to completely bust like Maybin. If Miller had a rookie season like Maybin (0 sacks), I would've owed Thoner money and I would've paid. Plus, who cares? Even if it was the most lopsided bet in the world, a bet's a bet and there are no takebacks. Do you think Vegas is refunding Indy-wins-the-Super-Bowl bets placed last April? I agree with you here and I had a snowballs chance in hell of winning my bet, but I did, even though Trent was the starter week one and gone two weeks later. Someone wants to spew off at the mouth on something they are so certain of that they make a foolish bet, then they should pay up. Ah, I really don't care either way. You could spin it anyway you want but it was a shady bet with onesided odds. I agree noone knew that Miller was going #2 in January but if memory serves me correctly every mock I seen had him going in the top 5. One more thing, some posters here do not watch alot of college football. Anybody that does follow college football & the Big 12, could of told you that noway Von Miller was going to turn out like Maybin. Outside of a season ending injury Miller was going to get pressure on the QB for whoever took him.

Thoner shouldn't have been so cocky about the situation that he didn't use some common sense, and its not OP's fault. Everyone and there mother was trying to tell me Cam Newton was going to suck in the NFL once upon a time and I imagine it would have been real easy to make some lucrative bets. I won't make bets on forums anymore because the odds are already stacked against you when betting with alias's. So you need to calc that into your formula along with injury. (you mentioned), I'm willing to bet had it gone the other way Thoner would want his money...
