NoSaint Posted January 15, 2012 Author Posted January 15, 2012 (edited) Also the receivers are the same except Jimmy Graham is WAY BETTER than any tight end they've had before. Their RBs are better now too with the addition of Sproles and Ingram. The ONLY player they might miss IMO is Darren Sharper… but Malcolm Jenkins is an excellent player. Better team, just a tougher year. Exactly. Same issues both years- just never faced a team that could exploit them in that run. Freeney being hurt was a huge and forgotten part of that superbowl. The onside kick actually kept him off the field as he was still finishing up taping his ankle figuring he had a few extra minutes after the half. On one leg he smacked bushrod around when in. Sharper is missed but he gave up a lot of big td runs. Like you said, not a big drop to Jenkins, if any. They also added Rogers, Franklin and cam Jordan to the dline losing an out of shape got cut from the cfl Charles grant and Bobby McCray. Edited January 15, 2012 by NoSaint
T master Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Big hit whitner Sure didn't see any of those while he was with the Bills !! Maybe he sat back & thought maybe the hitting with his back thing wasn't working !!! I wonder if he'll get a fine for leading with his head & the helmet to helmet hit ???

It's legal if the player isn't defenseless.
KD in CA Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 (edited) I'm pretty sure the Super Bowl winner will come out of the NFC. What a conference this year. I sure hope so, cause the Pats will be playing in it from the AFC. Edited January 15, 2012 by KD in CT
dave mcbride Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 When the Saints won in 2009, they only had to beat Arizona and Minnesota before beating Indy in the Super Bowl. Just getting through the NFC this year is tougher than winning the Super Bowl in 2009. Detroit last week was a better team than the two NFC teams the Saints beat in '09. Really? MN was extremely good thaf year (Favre was fantastic that season) and should have won that game.
NoSaint Posted January 15, 2012 Author Posted January 15, 2012 Really? MN was extremely good thaf year (Favre was fantastic that season) and should have won that game. That was part of my hesitation to go that far but favre was BEAT up by the end of that game. And much like the saints today, that team laid the ball on the ground a lot.
