I think that the Bills will draft,

1. Quinton Coples, DE North Carolina 6'6" 285.

2. Andre Branch, OLB Clemson 6'4" 258.

3. Brandon Boykin CB Georgia 5'10" 183.

4. Tavarres King WR Georgia 6'1" 192.

4. Malik Jackson OLB Tennessee 6'5" 268.

Front seven would look like this, If this is a passing league, you better have a pass rush.

RDE Chris Kelsey

DT Kyle Williams

NT Marcel Dareus

LDE Quinton Coples

WLB Andre Branch

MLB Kelvin Sheppard

SLB Nick Barnett

Merriman is finished.... the experiment is over, time to get over him and move on.

Chan Gailey's mantra is "this is a physical game for physical people". How many damn times do we have to hear htat repeated in videos? Well, Chan, put up or forever STFU.

Merriman has a year left on his deal. He will be asked to pass a physical exam at some point.

We'll all know at that time whether he's finished or not.

Gailey's mantra is "it's a tough game for tough people."

It's a lot easier to appear tough when you're also talented… which the Bills are not.

I like it. It all depends on signing FAs however. If the Bills can re-sign S Johnson, D Bell and S Chandler, and then bring in a FA wide receiver like Vincent Jackson then I'd be all over your top 3. Otherwise, they may need to waste more picks hoping to replace guys that they let slip away and stay on the treadmill for another year.

Why couldn't Moated and/or Batten play RE in 4-3, at least in a b/u role? Both go about 250 which isn't terribly undersized for the position and both played 4-3 DE in college so the concept isn't foreign to them.

Also I don't see why Carrington can't shed some weight and play LE in a 4-3.

We would still need a dominant pass rusher, but I think these guys could provide quality depth at DE. What am I missing?

I just posted this in the other thread. Mario Williams and Mathis kiwinuka. Make it happen.

Kiwanuka was a free agent last offseason and signed a two year deal with NYG:

7/28/2011: Signed a two-year, $8.6 million contract. The deal contains $4.55 million guaranteed, including a $2 million signing bonus, a first-year roster bonus of $300,000, and $500,000 of Kiwanuka's second-year base salary. 2011: $1.75 million, 2012: $4 million (+ $250,000 workout bonus + $300,000 roster bonus), 2013: Free Agent

I don't think Branch, a collegiate DE, will be playing OLB other than in a 34 system. I like him if they stay in the system they played last year.

Why does everyone forget about Carrington? I think he could be a legit 4-3 DE when lined up next to Darreus and an edge rusher outside of him at OLB. He seems big enough to hold the edge against the run and quick enough to get some pass rush. He can not play OLB in a 3-4.

The front 7 with with a healthy Williams and Dareus playing DT's in a 4-3 is not that far away. I believe it is easier to draft impact LB's then DL.

Moats and Batten are as good as gone. Moats is halfway to being a footnote in the NFL history books. Maybe he can give some pass rush as a 4-3 OLB. Batten is special teams caliber at best.

I was very high on Carrington coming into this season but he really disappointed. He got manhandled on running plays and was invisible in the pass rush (supposedly his specialty). He had a huge opportunity with the injuries and just didn't do anything with it. The fact that the Bills thought Spencer Johnson was a better DE option than Carrington says it all about his chances to play 4-3 DE.

I agree about Batten, but I've seen some flashes out of Moats. I'd like to see how he does in a new scheme before I write him off completely.
