meazza
But maybe the province so closely resembling Europe isn't doing so well... What a surprise. My link "Unit labour costs or the costs of producing here, with wages of $25 or $30 an hour, is not as viable for these businesses as it used to be, because of technology and emerging markets," said Sébastien Lavoie, assistant chief economist at Montreal-based Laurentian Bank Securities. OCinBuffalo
Liberals are like kryptonite to jobs. Tut, tut, tut! Not government jobs. Let's not forget, years of paying people off with jobs working for the government, which means they will pay the union, who will in turn pay the liberal politicians, who will in turn create more government jobs.... ....is basically the Democratic playbook, and the reason so many governments in this country are in trouble right now. Great Society indeed. Of course, this only sucks when there's not enough tax revenue to pay for it. It's a "great" idea when the economy is doing well....so let's raise taxes! Meanwhile, they lie and call this blatant corruption "moral" and "honorable".
Koko78
Meanwhile, they lie and call this blatant corruption "moral" and "honorable". I'm not so sure that they're lying when they say that. It's equally possible that the average lib is too stupid to know the difference between honor and corruption.

IDBillzFan
Everything would be fine if they'd just build a high-speed rail and tax private jet owners.

I'm actually trying to show the difference between Quebec and the rest of Canada since Quebec is much more the left than the rest of Canada so I fail to see your point. ....lybob
Let me make arguments as valid and simple as the OP Canada has a lower unemployment rate than the US , Canada has a single payer health care therefore if the US wants to lower Unemployment they should adopt single payer. Germany has a lower unemployment rate than the US, Germany has much stronger unions than the US therefore if the US wants to lower unemployment rates they need stronger unions. LOL...........those are simple alright, but they sure fail on the logic side..............am I just missing your sarcasm ? * China has a lower unemployment rate than the US , China has a totalitarian, socialist government, therefore if the US wants to lower employment it should adopt a socialist government................simple. * New England Patriots throw more TD passes than the Bills , New England has Tom Brady therefore if the bills want to throw more TDs they should aquire Tom Brady. This is fun. . Edited January 20, 2012 by B-Man

I was completely blown away at the crumbling infrastructure in Montreal when I was there last. Looked remarkably like NYC back in the late '70s. The argument of the OP is just stupid, just pointing it out, of course you on the right can't see it because it fits your economic bias- you can only see it when it comes from the left.
