I know last year was the 2% reduction on the employee side of FICA contributions, and that that got extended (in a great show of American bipartisanship.) But, I also thought my accountant had told me that in 2012 that the employer side of this was going to reduced 2% also......By doing a little googling, I'm led to believe that this is not true? My accountant has slipped into a well deserved retirement, so I can't bother her on this.

So, in other words, my simple spreadsheet for my secretary's wages stays the same - employee rate is the same and so is employer?

CPA here (and fellow Bona grad). You are correct, there is no change in the employer FICA rate for 2012. In other words, no rate reduction.

Yep, no rate change for 2012. I do Payroll for our company, though I hate doing it.

Can you add me to the payroll? I'll make it worth your time.

Nah, it can be too cold out. I'll settle for Occupy My Apartment.

My son's company is hiring. You could consider it a vacation in Afghanistan..

Looks like he may be heading over next week for a few weeks.
