PromoTheRobot Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 (edited) Per V-text: William Inge has been hired as assistant defensive line coach. He spent the past 2seasons as University at Buffalo's defensive coordinator/linebackers coach. I'm a little surprised by this hire considering how god-awful UB football has been. PTR Edited January 11, 2012 by PromoTheRobot
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Now I know who to blame if the D-line doesn't look well assistant-coached.
RealityCheck Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Per V-text: I'm a little surprised by this hire considering how god-awful UB football has been. PTR I too am surprised considering the great talent on that team.
mattsox Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Per V-text: I'm a little surprised by this hire considering how god-awful UB football has been. PTR Yeah me too... I guess wait and see what he can do...
The Big Cat Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Yeah me too... I guess wait and see what he can do... Wait and see what the assistant D-Line coach can do!? Holy crap. You just got pwned by Sage, and you don't even know it.

tombstone56 Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 i think haslett started out as d-line coach at ub
Never NEVER Give-up Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 He assisted Wanny at St John Fischer at camp last July. He was part of that Minority Coaches that come in and work with the NFL coaches. Gailey said they were impressed with him. Now he will assist Bob Sanders with the DL - a great spot for him and gives Bob a "runner" - "Go get me a towel", "Go get me some Gatorade", etc . . .
PromoTheRobot Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 I was kidding a bit about the Inge hire. I'm sure he'll do fine. UB? They are still stuck with Jeff "My way or the highway" Quinn at head coach for 2 more seasons minimum. PTR
Astrobot Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Inge is articulate, a great teacher (specialty=getting front 7 to play faster), big on defensive chemistry and morale. In 2008, he was LB coach for the Cincinnati Bearcats.

I am sure he will be more then a fetch boy or errand boy.
The Wiz Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 With all the injuries the team has, they figured they should have a backup for the coaches too.
jjmac Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 So, when Smith gets fired this guy gets the job?
CodeMonkey Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I'm a little surprised by this hire considering how god-awful UB football has been. PTR Ralph is cheap so he wouldn't have to pay this guys moving expenses
Captain Hindsight Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Per V-text: I'm a little surprised by this hire considering how god-awful UB football has been. PTR I know a few guys that played for him at UB. One guy got significantly better in his two years there. Says it was all his coach.. I like the hire
San Jose Bills Fan Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I did some digging around… and I'm not very encouraged. William Inge
Best Player Available Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I did some digging around… and I'm not very encouraged. William Inge Yikes! I see what you're saying.
PromoTheRobot Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 I did some digging around… and I'm not very encouraged. William Inge Being dead is a red flag, but he did win a Pulitzer. PTR
Stevie Ray Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Being dead is a red flag, but he did win a Pulitzer. PTR he would have fit in well under Jauron's staff.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Being dead is a red flag PTR That's the part I personally can't get over. I mean, I saw Weekend at Bernie's and all that but this just smacks of the same "hiring on the cheap" philosophy which has sunk this franchise in the first place.
