plenzmd1 Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Two things..this new way Google is displaying ads is pissing me right the #*# off. I do a search, the results come up, when i go to click the top result in the natural search, friggen ad with a link slides in there and away we go on that adventure. Or, just takes a few seconds for the the ads to load all the while the page is slip sliding..Bing is calling I guess. Also, for the folks who ride the Northeast regionals..I am on the free Amtrak wifi now..not quite sure when they started it, or if it is on every train, but it is pretty quick , better than my 3g/4g in the wasteland between Richmond and Quantico.
UConn James Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 (edited) Dude, if you used Firefox, you could add-on Ad Blocker Plus. It's really not difficult. I literally haven't seen an Internet ad in 5 years. Edited January 11, 2012 by UConn James

If you want more, get an iGoogle homepage.

plenzmd1 Posted January 12, 2012 Author Posted January 12, 2012 Can you still get porn on the train? sadly no they block all streaming sites. I miss my porn at 6 AM on the way to DC. But, as I mentioned, there are so many dead spots between DC and Richmond on my hotspot, that having the Amtrak wifi was actually quite nice.No porn, but TBD access was prolly better

Nice, simple, fast browser. Been using it since it came out and just keeps improving. Used to have issues with some pages but not anymore.

The Poojer Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Used it a wawa to get my coffee...you sign up and google puts $10 on the account for you...you just tap the phone to the swipe terminal, your phone vibrates and voila...transaction done... Where are you using Google Wallet? Is it limited right now?
bbb Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Some crazy **** starting next Tuesday from what I read. I guess this is what it is - not sure if I'm liking this!: NEWS ALERT Google requires all users to agree to new privacy policy Google announced Tuesday that it will require all of its users to agree to a new privacy policy that will integrate user data across 60 Google products including Gmail, YouTube and search. The policy will also encompass information, including location data, collected on mobile devices. Users will not be allowed to opt-out. In a company blog post, Google privacy director Alma Whitten said that “if you're signed in, we may combine information you've provided from one service with information from other services. In short, we'll treat you as a single user across all our products, which will mean a simpler, more intuitive Google experience." The new policy will take effect March 1.
