NoSaint Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 You're right. He's fairly tough for his size. He's not earning his money running across the middle though (however since you can't hit anyone, he shouldn't be afraid). With numerous major concussions he should be terrified.
Dorkington Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Hopefully we can re-sign him... AND pick up another talented WR. I hate this swapping down we do every off season. Lose one good player, replace them with a crappier version.
CodeMonkey Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 MeSean Jackson? Gimme a break. He is all about himself. He is a million times worse than Stevie. Guys like that destroy teams. We already have one MeFirst on the Bills. Having two, particularly playing the same position, would be a catastrophe.
ko12010 Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I definitely think Vincent is the guy we badly need. However, he has his own baggage (2 DWIs I believe). Buddy should throw in a complimentary limo w driver for Jackson then.
Taro T Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Let no Bills fan who wanted him back complain about him ever again then. You wanted him, then you are going to get him- if he drops crucial passes or costs us wins, then so be it. Just as long as you don't cheer any of his 1,000+ yards and 9 or so TD catches next year or beyond, that sounds reasonable.

dpberr Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I'd put SJ being back in a Bills uniform at 90%. If Nix was silent or no comment on this topic, I would have been worried. I think it's an excellent move to resign him.

You wanted him, then you are going to get him- if he drops crucial passes or costs us wins, then so be it. Fine, but you are also not allowed to be happy when we win if he scored a TD in that game. Deal?

You wanted him, then you are going to get him- if he drops crucial passes or costs us wins, then so be it. Steve Johnson is NOT a #1 receiver. He does not have the hands. But he is a good number two receiver who wants to be here. If we lose him, that is another hole to fill. We have enough of them. You don't have to be in love with the guy to want him here. So chill.

I think some fans define "No. 1" as the absolute top-tier receivers (Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, Roddy White, etc.). Anybody else is a No. 2. Problem is, there aren't a lot of those guys. No. 1 doesn't necessarily mean "unbelievable." Steve Johnson is a No. 1 on at least a third of the teams in the league, if not half.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 MeSean Jackson? Gimme a break. He is all about himself. My view of him really changed when I saw the Rick Reilly special on espn. Jackson basically adopted a kid who was the victim of bullying.

snamsnoops Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Sign SJ13, Stay the !@#$ away from D Jackson, he is a cancer! Vincent Jackson maybe but he is no angel. Funny people get on SJ13 about he antics but want some1 like D Jackson! No way!

Great, he can run Father Bakers. Still doesnt change his on-field persona and performance. We dont need a guy like that.
purple haze Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 (edited) Re-Sign Johnson. Sign DeSean Jackson. Draft Coby Fleener Fleener would be cool. Dwayne Allen from Clemson would be very cool. Jackson would be nice, but don't see it happening. Meachem or Manningham gives them talent, youth and speed on the other side of Stevie without an exorbitant contract. benderbender Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 It sounds like you are dead set against Stevie returning. He sounds realistic. The only reason he gets signed is because he would blaze our secondary if on an opposing team. I still see him leaving to free agency though. Don't believe the hype.

Steve Johnson is a No. 1 on at least a third of the teams in the league, if not half. Good post. According to quite a few people, there are only 5-8 "#1" WRs in the NFL. I'd rank Stevie in the #12-20 overall range of WRs in the NFL. The amusing part is how many people dog Stevie for the drops, yet consider Roddy White elite even though he leads the league in drops, and had a few of them yesterday.
