Their defense would have been in the top 5 with Martin Grammatica at safety. You know what? Facts are facts. SF stunk. They got a new coaching staff who immediately went out and outbid Cincy for Whitner and now they are a top defense. Geez. He's gone like Pat Williams and Winfield. So no use wasting time figuring it out. It's actually VERY simple. It's bodies in vs bodies out, and then dollars per year for the pick level. Many sites predict this with 99.9% accuracy year to year. The only thing is trying to gauge how much they will bump the cutoffs on dollars per year. It's baffling that they don't just publicly admit it. I guess it wouldn't be as newsworthy an event when they release the actual picks then.
