Lol. It's probably mostly related to Holmes and possibly Cromartie and Scott. Holmes most likely won't be there next year unless Holmes and Sanchez get "dirty" together anyway.

Holmes contract doesn't make him an easy out. Cutting is nearly not an option and who would trade for him? It's VERY likely they are stuck together.

Plax and Bart are likely gone though.

Guaranteed portion of Holmes contract remaining is 7.75. Not impossible to cut him. IMO they have to make a decision btw Sanchez and Holmes. Does anyone really think they can co-exist? Whatt if they roll the dice next year and in week 3 the same crap starts? Now they're really screwed.

Ah but you might be forgetting accelerating the amortization of the signing bonus.I remember it was a pretty friendly deal but there's a pretty solid chance that he's got a higher cap number if cut. That's a lot of dead cap space and you still have to replace both starting wideouts.

Edit: if cut today he counts 12.5m due to the acceleration on the bonus money (7.5 still paid), after feb 8th it jumps to 15.5m paid out according to espn.

That's a really tough cut. 12.5m would be 10% of the cap and you'd still have to pay for a replacement.

"Mr. Pouty" had a rather pedestrian 654 yards. Tellingly his replacement Turner scored a TD on the drive Holmes came out. His production can be replaced for not a lot of money.

Regardeless of what level it is on...when you come from winning, your gonna call BS when you see it.

Exactly.

For McElroy to go from a winning program like Alabama that is steeped in tradition, and to have to go to a team like the Jets, must've been quite a culture shock.

Good for him for speaking his mind. Although it's talk like this that can come back to haunt you.

Greg McElroy Calls Out the Jets

This guy has some balls.

Well Rexy like to dish it out hope he can take it.

This why Teams want high character guys because they will go through a wall no matter the situation because all they care about is winning.

Kid will be cut

I honestly wouldn't mind signing him, if he does. Has a lot of Fitz like qualities including intelligence, might be a decent back up.

You're probably right. On IR for....a thumb injury--he's not even part of the team. I think he was stating the obvious, but many will see it as not his place to make such a comment.
