This needs to be a defensive draft I feel like Bowe is a good receiver, but he's not the field stretching deep threat we need. Great wideout, but the Bills need someone who can open up the field over the top.
T master
I would say if we are looking at the draft either Donte Hightower or Blackmon in the frirst if they are there . Did you all see Blackmon last night for OSU what a beast the guy would be a great get for a #2 WR for our offense ! He will probably go before our pick & i didn't see Hightower mentioned in the top 10 would he be worth that pick at 10 or would it be a reach . Either way if we could get both of them that would be a killer draft !!
jcbillsfan
If it were my team I would sign Avril de det and take a flyer on T thomas cb giants. coming off an injury but big pysical press corner then finally give me josh johnson back qb draft what would be great is if richardson fell to the 10th and some one like cinncy wanted to trade up buy back to reality 1 brown olb nc 2 jones we north carolina 3 branch de clemson 4 mosley tackle auburn 4 robinson olb texas 5 moore qb bosie
KOKBILLS
like your creativity but Batten as a backup LDE? Seems rather undersized IMHO.....Moats coming off the edge as a pass rush DE is a possibility, though I'd rather see him as an OLB Agreed...I don't think Batten or Moats is big enough or strong enough at the point of attack to play DE in a 4-3...And I don't think Carrington can hold up as a DT in a 4-3 either...Maybe on sure Passing Downs...But that's about it...He would have to slide out to DE...Which may not be a bad thing... BuffaloBillsMagic1
I love dreaming about FA but them it is always such a letdown when we don't get any of them We'll get some backup WR or OL from a bad team and at best will be depth. Need to open up all our available cap space and get Bowe and re-sign SJ so now we can focu strictly on defense and more defense in draft. with all the TV money the NFL shares RW has no reason to complain and not spend. You only live once Ralhphi and it's only money and you can't take it with you, can you. Spend that 5 mill a yr from Toronto on your assets, your team's players already! H2o
With Wanny taking over as DC, and us likely going back to a 4-3, this is what I want to see this off season. First up, FA: 1. Get Johnson a real running mate to start opposite him on the field. Vincent Jackson would be my top choice if we go the FA route. Desean Jackson, Dwayne Bowe, Robert Meachem, Mario Manningham, Marques Colston, Brandon Lloyd, or whoever. Just get the guy some REAL help. If we don't land one of these guys I would LOVE to see us trade up for Blackmon. I do think we need too much help on the defensive side of the ball for this to happen though. 2. Courtland Finnegan would be an instant upgrade at the position and would bring an attitude to the defense. Brandon Carr from KC would be my second choice. That would cover our secondary as we would have a Dime package of Finnegan/Carr, Aaron Williams, Rogers, and Florence. 3. If at all possible, get Greg Olsen. Carolina will likely try to get him re-signed or franchise him, but if he makes it to the market I'd love to have the guy. He isn't the greatest of blockers, but he would surely be able to catch a lot of balls in this offense. 4. Get a couple of players to serve as quality OL depth. Second, based on the premise we switch back to a full time 4-3 Defense, the draft: 1. Whitney Mercilus / DE / Illinios - The guy is as his last name, Mercilus. 2. Nick Perry / DE / USC - There are people already clamoring for him as our 1st Rd pick. Geez. Don't worry, he'll be there when we pick in the 2nd. 3. Danny Trevathan / OLB / Kentucky - This guy is always around the ball, has good instincts, and knows how to hit somebody. 4a. Emmanuel Acho / OLB / Texas - Yes, two defensive ends followed by two LB's. Like we don't need it. Acho is another physical LB who makes plays and would still be an upgrade in coverage. 4b. Ryan Broyles / WR / Oklahoma - Broyles is a guy who would've likely gone in the 1st if it had not been for his ACL injury. This is just hope that he would fall this far, but whoever takes a chance may get the steal of the draft. Rounds 5-7 take the BPA. All of this would change our team's look quick, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Edited January 4, 2012 by H2o
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS
This is all great but will Ralph Inc. shell out for quality free agents? Hopefully the empty seats after game 10 or so will have an impact. Also let's see if Whaley has juice, if it's true he is taking over from Nix. Kevin
Draft 1. QB Ryan Tannehill 6'4" 225 Tex A&M 2. OLB Ronnell Lewis 6'2" 237 Oklahoma 3. DE Cardarro Law 6'2" 265 Southern Miss 4. Buffalo Barbarian
like your creativity but Batten as a backup LDE? Seems rather undersized IMHO.....Moats coming off the edge as a pass rush DE is a possibility, though I'd rather see him as an OLB There's only 7 lbs between them and batten is 2" taller. The Bills won't take a QB in the Draft this year, but if they do it will not be until the 6th or 7th round. No thanks

Trader
So we all know the Bills have some glaring needs going into this offseason. Pass rushing OLB, improving the run D, better depth at WR,CB,etc. Here's mob16151's real, quick plan to improve the Bills. In Free Agency, I'd like to see the Bills target the following three players. 1. Robert Meachem WR New Orleans. He gives the Bills a legitimate number 2 WR,across from Johnson (Assuming he's resigned.). He's tall, fast, and still relatively young at 27 years old. His signing would let the Bills utilize,Jones,Easely, and Nelson, more effectively depending on matchups, and field situation. His signing would likely spell the end of Roscoe Parrish's time in Buffalo, and give the Bills a WR depth chart that looks like this. 1.Johnson 2.Meachem 3.Jones 3A. Nelson 4.Easely 5.Hagan. The second player I'd like the Bills to sign in FA, is Dallas TE Martellus Bennett. He's stuck on the depth chart behind perennial pro bowler Jason Witten in Dallas. He's young athletic, and while not the best of blockers, he has the athletic ability to be a JerMicheal Finley type recieving target. His signing would give the Bills a TE depth chart that looked like this. 1.Chandler 2.Bennett 3.Smith The third and final Free agent acquisition I'd like the Bills to make is Tracey Porter CB New Orleans. He's struggled some with injuries, since he's been a pro, but when healthy he's one of the top 15 corners in the NFL, in my opinion. Plus it would be nice to steal a corner off the Saints, after they stole Greer. His signing would give the Bills a CB rotation that looked like this. 1.Porter 2.Williams 3.Florence 4.Rodgers In the first round of the draft I'd like to see the Bills take Nick Perry OLB USC. He's young athletic and explosive. He sadly, would immediately become the Bills best pass rusher as soon as his name was called on draft day. Look for him to explode at the combine, and have a Clay Matthews like rise up draft boards. In the second, I'd like to see the Bills take Nick Foles QB from Arizona. He's strong armed, but comes from a west coast type offense. He had a very good season, until the end of the year, when it looked like he was trying to do to much to keep his team in games. Keep a close eye on him at the senior bowl. In the third round Emmanuel Acho OLB Texas. He's not a great pass rusher, but he's big, physical, and is pretty good at holding his ground against offensive lineman. And the Bills need a LB like that. Other possible draft targets to keep an eye on include Keith Tandy CB WVU Bruce Irvin DE/OLB WVU Geno Hayes QB WVU Russell Wilson QB Wisconsin Jeff Fuller WR Texas A&M Whitney Mercilus DE Illinois Ryan Van Bergen DE Michigan Janoris jankins CB North Alabama Anyhow let me know what you think. I don't have a problem with the quality of players mentioned. Do you believe the Bills should stand pat at the offensive line Positions?

Tannehill? You want to bring in a guy who was at the helm of multiple meltdowns this past season? Whether it's a season or a game, we can't afford another QB who starts hot and finishes ice cold. That was the definition of A&M this year. No thanks. Not that culture. Not this locker room. No way.
BobChalmers
Carrington is 305 which is plenty big enough for a DT as 3 technique, He bulked up to that for the 3-4. He was a pass rushing DE out of college. If our staff had any forsight, Carrington would have been playing OLB at his old weight instead of poor DT Spencer Johnson being stuck out there. I don't have a problem with the quality of players mentioned. Do you believe the Bills should stand pat at the offensive line Positions? I would be OK with that - assuming they resign Bell. Hairston looked fine as a part-time rookie, they extended Pears (who I don't love) and IMO, the Bills have one of the best interior OL's in the entire league with Wood (hopefully healthy) Levitre and Urbik. Lock those three up long-term and don't worry about the interior OL for the next dozen years. Edited January 4, 2012 by BobChalmers
