Buffalo Barbarian Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Chandler Jones brother of UFC lightheavyweight champion Jon and DT of the Ravens Art, will be available in this years draft and with Chan "thinking" about switching to a 43, he would be a good addition for us. "He located the football quickly and made his presence felt against the run. Jones generated heat on the quarterback and even came up with an interception. With a good senior year, Jones has a chance to secure a first-round grade," Kiper wrote earlier this month. http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft2012/story/_/id/7404961/chandler-jones-syracuse-orange-enter-nfl-draft
RyanC883 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Love the idea. Should be available in the 2 or 3rd, would make an impact right away. Jones, Dearus and Upshaw would make for a nice young D. And Sheppard.

Has size and length needed as a 4-3 DE. Woul dbe good 4th round pick for us. Guy is like 6 ft 6.

With us switching back to a 43 not sure upshaw is on the radar unless they want to make him an end but not sure how he would do there since he has always plated LB.
C.Biscuit97 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 IF the Bills drafted a pass rusher with every pick in the draft, I would be happy with that draft.
atlbillsfan1975 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 IF the Bills drafted a pass rusher with every pick in the draft, I would be happy with that draft. Why not, seems like the Giants do it every year. They only are a constant playoff contender, and play in a SB every 6-7 years.

You would use Upshaw like The Redskins did with orakpo play at OLB on 1st and 2nd and DE on 3rd

We just need the #1 overall pick and I'd be behind this plan 100%. QBs and pass rushers are thehardest to things to find in the NFL.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted January 2, 2012 Author Posted January 2, 2012 You would use Upshaw like The Redskins did with orakpo play at OLB on 1st and 2nd and DE on 3rd My point being that he ways 270 lbs and most 43 OLBs around 230-240, he wouldn't be a good fit in a 43 as he has played 34 his whole carreer. Why not, seems like the Giants do it every year. They only are a constant playoff contender, and play in a SB every 6-7 years. We could have drafted Jason Pierre-Paul.

If the Bills switch back to the 4-3, it seems like Quinton Coples would be the most logical pick.....that is, IF he makes it to #10. I have read that Carolina really likes him.

But it appears he would be a good fit for a 4-3 end. However, if Upshaw is there in the 1st, draft him! Draft the best players, figure out how to use them next. They can adjust to different schemes with proper coaching. Draft the best players! Not people for certain schemes (exhibit A = Aaron Maybin). Edited January 3, 2012 by CSBill
Johnny Hammersticks Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Is Upshaw a 4-3 OLB? Draft Tek says he is 6-2, 268. No, he is not. Way too big and slow.
