"(Santonio) Holmes was one of the players who refused to talk to the media today. He gathered a few belongings at his locker and was escorted out by a member of the team's PR staff.

Cornerback Darrelle Revis, normally a media-friendly player, also declined to speak with reporters. Linebacker Bart Scott gestured with his middle finger toward a photographer and yelled to get the camera out of his face."

I respect his passion and his confidence, even though he is a dick. ll things considered, give him a real QB and they likely play in the SB.

He's good at getting his players amped up to play but all his declarations and guarantees put a huge bullseye on his team.

That said, I actually like Rex Ryan.

He seems like a guy I could play for.

Santonio Holmes on the other hand…

Rex Ryan didn't fall far from the Buddy Ryan tree that's for sure....I happened to live in Philly during the Buddy Ryan years and it was the same BS....lots of talk, no SB. Sure he made the playoff's three times but crapped out each time despite a very good football team....seeing the Jet's implode makes the pain of this past season a bit easier to take...

Other teams sucking is only a bit of solace for me.

And it's kind of a sad practice deriving comfort from the failures of others.

I predicted failure for this Jets regime numerous times because of Rex's personality + the NYC media + the free agent acquisitions and shuffling of big name players (going counter to conventional ideas of team building).

However, I've actually grown to appreciate Rex and am very interested to see how the Jets bounce back next season.

How quickly Folks forgot the trouble Holmes got into in Pittsburgh...Which was the reason The Jets were able to get him for next-to-nothing in the 1st place... B-)

They didn't act that way for Pepsi Max

I like Rex, he shows his emotions and you know where stands. Which is want you want from any coach.

Holmes has made alot of big time plays in his career. Maybe he has mad at not getting the ball and let Sanchez have it.

Sanchez on the other hand.....

And the new regime will be drafting a QB in 2013. Sure is fun watching the wheels come off in Jetsville.

Be ironic if we goat Fitzy and Stevie out the door, Cryin' Ryan picks him up and plugs him into a more balanced run-first offense, and he takes them past us into the playoffs.

I'm not saying I expect this, but it would be funny. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets make a play for Stevie in FA.

He'd be a media freak in a media circus there, and for a Jet, he'd be considered a salt-of-the-earth, low-ego hard-workin' guy.

The kind of improvisation that make SJ and Fitz a strong team would be Right Out with Sanchez I think

yep, and seeing his brother fail in big D was just as satisfying.

Jerry Jones blabbering on ESPN last night was a good thing too see after our horrendous loss.

The cowgirls are the most overrated team in football.

Oh those loveable classy Jets.

What is big deal about this? It is a typical NYC/NJ salute.

Rex saving his job by making small concession on naming Holmes captain. The real issues are a) sticking w/ Schottenheimer @ OC and b) Rex's supposed elite defense falling apart in the final 3 weeks.

They are the classic bullies. They talk all big and bad when they are winning. The second they lose, they cry and can't talk to the media. A bunch of cowards who got lucky to even sneak into the playoffs the last 2 seasons.

That said, I think Ryan is a pretty damn good coach. The Jets aren't that much more talented than the Bills IMO. And I do like his swagger. But that's stuff you keep in house and don't broadcast. I guarantee Belichick talks a ton of crap but he keeps it in house.
