Nuncha Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 His shirt said Happy New Year. It was about as harmless as you can get. Hernandez can prance like an idiot and gets no flag. Which is seems more like taunting? But I stand by Gailey benching him. SJ needs to know better at this point. It sends a great message to the entire team. But the Bills would be idiots not to bring SJ back. Harmless act? Pulling up your jersey to reveal your undershirt is an automatic 15 yard penalty. If he had "HI MOM" written on there it would have been the same thing. He needs to learn the damn rules and stop hurting his team. The dude is a moron.
1billsfan Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Stevie Johnson cost himself a long term contract with that move. The Bills will franchise him and make him prove he can behave for a full season before they show him any long term money.
BuffalooByrd Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 If they let him walk, they let me walk too. 2nded
BRH Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Chan clearly must have told him after the last time that he was out if he did it again. SJ called his bluff and we all lost because he once again put himself ahead of the team. My 9-year-old son had no problem with the benching. I'm proud of him.

May Day 10 Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Really? REALLY? You'd "leave" over this fool? Adorable. its not all about him. I am just ready to hop off the train. Sick of the cycle of letting talented players go and create holes. I really think this team can be poised to turn a corner this offseason. Re-sign #13, maybe get another WR, try to create a pass rush. They arent far off... But I think it will be obvious what their intentions are. Losing SJ is an indication they are taking another step backward.
BuffaloBillsForever Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 He knows he will not be here next year. He is the type to take it as far as he can.
fbzh2 Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 TO taught him well - excessive celebration and how to drop the ball. The guy is a joke. Beat me to it...I agree....“Stevie me first”….too much time spent with his idol TO.
stevestojan Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Daddy if you score do wut u told me u were going to do ok? Mommy said its ok if they fine you, jus dnt 4get her M&Ms!” StevieJohnson StevieJohnson StevieJohnson13 StevieJohnson13 @ @
BRH Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 And even SJ himself said he was done with celebrations. That lasted what, a month? Screw him. I hope he reads this, too.
Hapless Bills Fan Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Douchebag. That is all. He may be a douchebag, but I want him to be OUR douchebag
bills1960 Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Ya, good move Gailey. Let's force our best receiver since Andre Reed out of town because he likes scoring TDs.
G-Daddy Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 My bet is that someone saw him with the t-shirt in the locker room, spoke to him about it and when he still pulled the stunt, bingo.....to the bench you go stupid.
CodeMonkey Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Stevie Johnson cost himself a long term contract with that move. The Bills will franchise him and make him prove he can behave for a full season before they show him any long term money. Yeah pay him franchise money. That will teach him a lesson.
GaryPinC Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 I don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell that Stevie is back in Buffalo next season. This. Chan always seemed to get a pained look on his face this year when questioned about Stevie's various antics and I just don't think he wants Stevie on his team. That really sucks because Stevie does have some talent and we need all the talent we can get.
Nyghtewynd Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 He's the best player on the team. If you're going to choose a loser head coach over the best player on the team, you're pretty much telling everyone that you don't care about winning.
DrDawkinstein Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Stevie's act was immature and selfish, the second time he pulled such a penalty in a divisional game this season. Chan had no choice but to pull him. Belichick would have cut him on the spot. That being said, the Bills need to re-sign him and SJ needs to learn his lesson.
DanInUticaTampa Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Ya, good move Gailey. Let's force our best receiver since Andre Reed out of town because he likes scoring TDs. Yes, johnson was benched because he "likes scoring tds." Just Like santonio holmes was traded out of the steelers because he liked "scoring superbowl winning tds."
C.Biscuit97 Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 And even SJ himself said he was done with celebrations. That lasted what, a month? Screw him. I hope he reads this, too. Yeah, I'm sure pro athletes spend their free time reading some of the garbage "fans" post here. I was a shirt that said Happy New Year. He probably shouldn't have done it but it get deal with. But let's not act like the guy had swaiskas on his shirt or something.
nucci Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Great job, Chan! You sure showed Stevie a lesson!!' Your boss gives you a direct order and you disobey...what do you think happens?
