truth on hold
Word out of NYC is that with about 2 & half mins left and jets down by 9, he went off on Sanchez in the huddle and in protest took himself out of the game. Dudes a team captain too. Wow just wow. Idc what you think of your QB you don't take yourself out of the game in that situation. BuffaloBillsForever
They might be more in shambles than the Bills right now. There expecations were SUPERBOWL OR BUST! When you go to bed think about the Jets and as a Bills fan you might sleep well.
KD in CA
Yup, they showed him pouting on the bench in the last few minutes when the Jets were trying to drive to stay in the game. Probably because he didn't have a catch and broke his consecutive games string. Nice to see the wheels starting to come off the Rexwagon.

He describes Sanchez as requiring the open man on each play to be identified for him: ....He is not a quick reader of the progression, therefore with every call, Schottenheimer has to tell him where to expect the open man. If the call is a bad one, then Sanchez starts to panic and looks nervous. The most effective pass play he runs is the fake handoff, deep crosser, which has no read -- just fake and come out throwing. The more Sanchez has to read off the play, the better chance the play has to break down. Therefore, the Jets must keep things simple. It does sorta make Sanchez sound like the sort of QB a smart wideout would find frustrating. That said, I agree that to go off on the QB in the huddle and stalk out of the game is inexcusable. Cue "Holmes cut by Jets, any interest?" on TBD (edit: Linky ) Edited January 1, 2012 by Hopeful

Kaenon
I hear Tomlinson called Holmes out about being a shotty captain, so he left the huddle and took himself out of the game.

wnyBacker
Sanchez may be a lousy qb but u don't quit on ur team with the playoffs hanging on the line, or ever for that matter. He is clearly a self centered guy who would be better served not being in the NFL.
