Jerry Jabber Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 ? He had a strong rookie season with Bledsoe at the helm. Evans does go for balls. It's a myth that he doesn't. youtube.com/watch?v=4sxkXH6gZ08 I forgot about Bledsoe, thanks! That makes it 2 for 5 then.
BuffaloBillsForever Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 (edited) Supposedly Stevie Johnson. 2010 (with Lee): REC/YDS/TD 82/1073/10 2011 (without Lee (and with a game to go (against a historically bad pass defense))) 72/964/6 Well there you go. The Lee Evans decoy myth. To put it in a broader perspective, we never historically had great or even good production from our WR or TE corps when Lee Evans was here. If he was a decoy, production would have shifted to them, it didn't. We never won anything when Lee Evans was here. Production from our WR's and TE's are better since Evans has left. So who did he decoy for again? Remember when Evans was going to be the greatest decoy for TO and he would have a monster year? Edited December 29, 2011 by BuffaloBillsForever

I don't think you're wrong, but you do need to put the stats in perspective. We've thrown it more this year than last already, and we have one game to go. In the end, we'll have thrown about 45-50 more passes than last season (8 percent or so more). On the other hand we went from 19th in attempts and 24th in passing yards in 2010 to 11th in attempts and 15th in yards this year. Of course, part of the reason the passing stats are better this year is that last year's stats were burdened by two awful starts by Edwards and one worse-than-awful start by Brohm.

Allow me to preempt the Decoyists: You obviously don't know anything about football.
Doc Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Stevie's stats are even more impressive when you consider he's been playing hurt all year long and has had a consistent #2 across from him.
C.Biscuit97 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I wanted to keep Evans and wasn't thrilled with the trade. But players get old fast in the NFL. When a player turns 30 and older, the injuries will come more often. I think it was a good risk for Baltimore but it is really looking like a good deal for the Bills.
BuffaloBillsForever Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Evans watch...they play the Bengals. Should be a physical game. Two good defenses.
