PromoTheRobot Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 (edited) Bills inactives: WR Naaman Roosevelt, RB Johnny White, DB Josh Nesbitt, RT Sam Young, DL Jarron Gilbert, WR Ruvell Martin, TE Fendi Onobun Just wondering why the most experienced and effective WR from a depleted group is not playing 2 weeks in a row? Gray Beard Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Didn't he hurt a shoulder a few weeks ago? I've always thought he was pretty good in spite of that infamous third down drop a few games ago that angered all the armchair hardasses on this forum because Fitz tried to console him rather than chew him out.
FluffHead Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 I have an idea.....He isn't very good, is completely limited to short to intermediate routes, and isn't producing. Who cares if he is the local boy.
TAinLack. Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Just wondering why the most experienced and effective WR from a depleted group is not playing 2 weeks in a row? PTR Probably a little nicked up PTR. I agree though he is a very consistent receiver when the ball is thrown to him. Hopefully he will be in the lineup and will get some touches!
AxelRipper Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 And Ruvell is out despite the career game he had last week? Who do we have as WR anymore?
JayD Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Chris Brown told me last week it is because they want to give other guys opportunities such as Aiken and Hagan
K-9 Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Can't blame the staff at all for wanting to get a look at different players in live game conditions when there is nothing else to be gained this season. I thought Roosevelt got nicked up against Tennessee anyway. GO BILLS!!!
PromoTheRobot Posted December 24, 2011 Author Posted December 24, 2011 And Ruvell is out despite the career game he had last week? Who do we have as WR anymore? Actually Ruvell injured his hammy last week, ending a promising career. PTR

BillnutinHouston Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Naaaaaaman has already shown his ceiling and his blazing 4.9 speed. They need to see what they have in Aiken and Hagan.
PromoTheRobot Posted December 30, 2011 Author Posted December 30, 2011 (edited) Brad Smith won't play. Chan says Derek Hagan wil be opposite SJ. Will Naaman be active? If no, then something is up if a street free agent is keeping you off the field. PTR Edited December 30, 2011 by PromoTheRobot
San Jose Bills Fan Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I know that the reserve wideouts on the Bills typically play on the coverage teams. I know that Roosevelt doesn't because of his lack of size. Maybe this has something to do with it?
bills1960 Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 He's just not good. It's definitely an indictment on him that Gailey would rather dress Kamar Aiken and Derek Hagan over him.
John from Riverside Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I think they like Derek Hagan and I agree.......big, fast, gets open deep
4BillsintheBurgh Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 They're trying to determine how many receivers to pick up in the offseason.
CardinalScotts Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 This and that yep...wish he was better
Ramius Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I have an idea.....He isn't very good, is completely limited to short to intermediate routes, and isn't producing. Who cares if he is the local boy. Exactly. He just isn't very good. Being a hometown guy who went to UB is great and all, but it doesn't make him a better football player.
PromoTheRobot Posted December 30, 2011 Author Posted December 30, 2011 (edited) Exactly. He just isn't very good. Being a hometown guy who went to UB is great and all, but it doesn't make him a better football player. First, sorry for the typos. It's hard to post on a phone sometimes. What made Naaman so clutch at UB was his hands. The guy caught everything, even when he got clobbered. I thought that would make him valuable as a possession receiver. And I thought he was doing that for the Bills. Chan even praised him. But suddenly he has fallen out of favor. Was he injured and Hagen outplayed when he got his shot? I follow Naaman on Twitter and the dude talks mostly about going out and stuff. It's just a hunch but I wonder if Chan thinks he's not making football a priority? I want him to succeed but I want the Bills to have the best players they can get more. PTR Edited December 30, 2011 by PromoTheRobot
San Jose Bills Fan Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I'd bet dollars to donuts that it's the special teams thing. Naaman is small. The other guys are big. He doesn't play on coverage or returns. The other guys do.
