Delete This Account Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Folks: Bills owner: Team open to renewing Toronto series More to come, including comments on team, and QB. jw
major Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 The Toronto series has been an EPIC FAIL. Why renew something that didn't work? They don't want us and we don't want them.
Delete This Account Posted December 22, 2011 Author Posted December 22, 2011 New version just moved, if someone can find it please link, as I've got more writing to do. Regarding Fitzpatrick, Mr. Wilson said: "We think he's a good quarterback, and we're going to stick with him and get him some better players." jw
purple haze Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 The Toronto series has been an EPIC FAIL. Why renew something that didn't work? They don't want us and we don't want them. It worked perfectly. The Bills made out like bandits moneywise. That's all it was about. Money. Establishing a base in Toronto with corporations and creating more fans.
Zulu Cthulhu Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Well, this is unwelcome news. Not surprising, though.

The Big Cat Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 "We've got to get receivers. If he hasn't gotten anybody to throw to, he's not going to win many games," Wilson said. "We think he's a good quarterback, and we're going to stick with him and get him some better players, get him some runners, some tight ends that don't get injured and some wide receivers and we'll be OK." Translation: Freddy AND Stevie are coming back, will end up taking Blackmon or Floyd in the first round.
Stevie Ray Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 latest link to updated story. jw Sigh. he didnt mention "and a new defensive coordinator".
aussiew Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Is it true that as long as we play in Toronto (our "International" game) that we can't ever play the London game? If that's true - damn, damn, damn.
bills1960 Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Hey Ralph, either you chose a really bad time to tell us this or you just liking screwing with us. Gosh I hate this guy more and more everyday.
Hammered a Lot Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 So Mr Wilson how are the talks going with Erie County?

If you believe that you FAIL to understand that that NFL is a business. The Toronto series offsets the revenue lost from lack of luxury boxes. Sure it sucks but it helps keep the Bills if Buffalo.
PromoTheRobot Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 (edited) No one wants the Toronto series but no one wants to buy tickets in Orchard Park either. I say give Toronto every December game. Not like we want them. PTR Edited December 22, 2011 by PromoTheRobot

Endless Ike Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 (edited) If they sign a new long-term agreement with toronto, thats another obstacle to them leaving town. My guess is they probably have a Toronto agreement in principle, but aren't going to finalize and announce until they can threaten their way to a sweetheart stadium deal from the state and county, because they lose so much leverage with a toronto extension in place Edited December 22, 2011 by Endless Ike
GG Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I think this marks the 11th consecutive year that Ralph Wilson asks fans to be patient with a young roster and a rebuilding plan in place ... PT Barnum would be proud.
Rubes Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Thanks, jw. We'll see how serious he is in the off season, I guess.
