billsevans Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Looking at the list of free agents to be, Visanthe Schiancoe is the best available tight end. Scott Chandler was a nice surprise this season, but could be resigned at a smaller priced contract. Schiancoe isn't Ponders favorite target and that has shown in his production. With Gailey's use of the tight end, I think Schiancoe would be a perfect fit. At 6'4", 250 he is a threat down the field and can seal the end for Freddie. I would take Schiancoe and Chandler at TE next season. Your thoughts?

The Big Cat Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 He was the go-to guy for Favre, along with Harvin. I wouldn't have any problem with signing him. Ditto. Favre seemed to like him, and he proved himself more than capable.
jjmac Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Now, try convincing him to think about coming here.
BuffaloBillsForever Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I like Shancoe a lot especially in the passing game. He would make too much sense and would fit in perfectly with Chan Gailey's pass happy offense. Wouldn't it be nice to throw the ball out of 2 te formations?
RuntheDamnBall Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Well, at least if Shiancoe is signed you could count on a little more, um, exposure for the Bills. You could google it, but if you do, don't go telling anyone that I didn't alert you it's NSFW.
White Linen Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 With Gailey's use of the tight end, I think Schiancoe would be a perfect fit. I'm not sure I understand this part? Gailey's been often linked to having a history of not using tight ends.
jjmac Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Gailey seemed to use Chandler more this year than he as uded TEs in the past. I like Schiancoe, but with 5 TEs already in town I think we will go the least expensive route and bring them all back to camp.

Maybe it was because he realized that other than one guy, His corp of receivers wouldn't end up on most teams practice squads.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 This would be a good signing if it were 2008. Has this guy done anything for the last few years?
K-9 Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I'm not sure I understand this part? Gailey's been often linked to having a history of not using tight ends. Tony Gonzalez might disagree. GO BILLS!!!

I think he'll be one of the draft's suprises.
8-8 Forever? Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Now, try convincing him to think about coming here. if he gets comparable $$$ offers elsewhere (which he will) , no way he comes to this screwed up franchise.
snamsnoops Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 This would be a good signing if it were 2008. Has this guy done anything for the last few years? Not since Brett
Cash Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Plus he's a good locker room presence... er, that is, he has a big presence in the locker room. And by presence, I mean honker.
