So much for that...

Pull out every single soldier at once, like a Band-Aid gets ripped off, despite warnings from your military commanders about going this route.

Nice move, Barry.

Iraq collapsing into sectarian violence once we left was pretty much a foregone conclusion, no matter when we did.

But Obama ended the Iraq War.

Do you really think stuff like this will get much air time in the US during Obama's Re-Election Rxtravaganza 2012?

We won't hear much about what's going on in Iraq until the election has been decided. Even then, if Obama wins we won't hear much unless The Green Zone falls like Saigon

In spite of the fact that this was likely predictable, the reality is we should stay out of any international affairs moving forward until the French tell us what we should be doing.

Some cultures are just going to do what they do. Some are civilized some aren't. No amount of troops. No amount of Arab springs are going to change that. The mentality that spawns guys like Kadafi, Osama, Sadam Hussien come from that culture. Nothing you can do with them except let em sort it out themselves. Thinning out the gene pool in a sense.

What's the alternative? Leave US troops there indefinitely and continue to funnel billions of dollars into a money pit that will never end like the war on drugs?

Who prefers the route of continuing to spend money and lives while we remove the band aid slowly...and then let Iraq erupt into sectarian violence once the band aid is off.

Ron Paul may be a whacko on many things but he's had Iraq right for a long time. We walked in. We can walk out.

Apparently it doesn't matter. All that matters is who is giving the order...

Pretty much. Republicans wouldn't give Obama credit if he cured cancer single handedly. Then again, the Democrats were the same way with Bush Jr. Personally I hate them both so I try to call things as I see them regardless of which side I happen to be criticizing.

Al-Issawi, the finance minister, told CNN that before U.S. troops left, Iraqi officials made clear their fears of what could happen.

"So many times we warned the Americans, both the political and security situation (are) very fragile. Unfortunately, no one listened."

Too bad it was his government who didn't want to negotiate a new agreement for US troops to stay longer. Sucks to be them, they need to figure out how work it out amongst themselves, or die trying. Of course al-Maliki trying to set himself up as the next dictator isn't helping matters.
