Estelle Getty Posted December 19, 2011 Author Posted December 19, 2011 I almost thought you were suggesting that we get Flacco or Sanchez....They are not far off from Fitz. They are all similar in the fact that I would not count on them for anything more than holding a cup of water.
todd Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Imagine that, a QB playing well when his weapons are healthy and line playing well, but plays poorly when his WR/TEs are hurt and line playing poorly. Hmmm. Reminds me of something. Can't put my finger on it. It must be the common sense of it. While on the subject of QBs on other teams, Phillip Rivers is playing much better now that Antonio Gates and Malcolm Floyd are both back and getting up to speed. There's been a lot of Rivers bashing on this forum this year but IMO he's an elite QB. I'd easily rather have Rivers than Flacco or Sanchez.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I almost thought you were suggesting that we get Flacco or Sanchez....They are not far off from Fitz. No. I'm not a fan of either player. Both have real nice arms but neither have the intangibles which make a Pro Bowl quarterback. Flacco has roughly the skill set of Eli but none of the brain… he ends up looking like a poor imitation of Big Ben. Sanchez throws a nice ball but I think he's a slightly better version of JP.
Rico Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 What? Flacco isn't a game manager. He has a big arm, but poor deep accuracy. Flacco's biggest problem is that he holds on to the ball for far too long and is slow to make reads. This is proof that the term "game manager" is just thrown around to describe an average QB. He and, say, Alex Smith, though of similar caliber, have completely different styles. Bledsoe Jr. , also with negative intangibles. I wouldn't want either, but if I had to choose one, I would much rather have Sanchez than Sucko.
