1billsfan
Sorry for being a spoiler, but I saw it here... http://www.gbnreport.com/2012projection.html Video here (looks the part)... http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=84123&draftyear=2013&genpos=OT I thought I'd shake things up here...LOL All kidding aside, the Bills will be in a prime position to take a very good LT or OLB prospect from where they'll probably be selecting. Man would our offensive line be impressive if they took a big kid like that!

I assume we spent a 1st. Not sure what I think yet but the last guy we got from Iowa sucked.

Man would our offensive line be impressive if they took a big kid like that! I like the kid, but I highly doubt the Bills will draft an OT in round 1. Of course, my opinion could change depending upon what happens with D. Bell (who I suspect will be lost in free agency). The obvious opinion is that they need to select the best possible pass rushing OLB in the 1st round. I'm not so convinced about that. If Blackmon or Jeffery should slide to our draft position I could see them pulling the trigger, then selecting a LB like Vinny Curry with their pick in the second round. A lot also depends on our draft position, as the best pass rushing OLB, Courtney Upshaw, IMO is not worth a top 10 pick.
mrags
Everytime I see a big nasty OT from Iowa I think of the guy in the program that broke Alvin Macks leg and ended his career. I'm all for it. Get er done buddy. We need some big nasty rough attitude OLmen.
Max997
Ive been saying all year this O-line is not as good as the stats say they are or some people think they are. The need a legit LT. Id also like to see an upgrade at RG
K-9
If a tackle is rated their BPA at the time they select, the Bills won't have any trouble taking him. Nix is old school, BPA all the way. And I agree. GO BILLS!!!

I'd almost rather they go the way of selecting a guy like Riley as the final lock down player at the LT position with their first pick... ...then have Merriman and Barnett work some PR magic (and of course have Ralph open the checkbook) to get a couple of very good free agent LB vets in here to lock down the LB corps. Then the rest of the draft (rounds 2-7) could be used to work on adding much needed depth.
mjt328
Our first priority should be quarterback. But if the top 3-4 (Luck, Barkley, Griffin, Jones) are gone, I have no problem with going for the top offensive tackle.

BillsVet
Never take a LT in the first half of the first round. Never. Buddy Nix has proven time and again that OT's can be found in the late rounds, off the street, and from other team's practice squads. The first round is where you take the fastest and excitin' running backs. I see the Bills using the draft once again to replace a departed player (Stevie?) or filling the massive OLB problem they have. Darn that Merriman for not working out! 808
alshon jeffries to the bills would be cool. i like the kid and he would be in so much more talk if he didnt have a bum QB. there are a ton of spots on this team that could use a upgrade

But no high picking team in recent memory has significantly improved their fortunes by taking a tackle in round one. Bad teams like the Fins, the Raiders, the Browns and the Skins have done so and to no avail.
bananathumb
We got our OTs, we need a QB and should be able to get one of the top 4 (unless we beat Miami).

But no high picking team in recent memory has significantly improved their fortunes by taking a tackle in round one. Bad teams like the Fins, the Raiders, the Browns and the Skins have done so and to no avail. Oh, you mean the teams without good quarterbacks! But seriously, guys like Jake Long, Joe Thomas, Ryan Clady etc.. are going to be starting long enough that ALL those teams may end up becoming successful. Those are dura-picks. They are built to last. Your approach has the distinct ring of "Draft for need!" as in "drafting a CB to replace Drayton Florence is priority #1 because I see wide receivers catching the football against him". Draft = Process
BillsVet
Taking an OT may not be the flashy pick, but a good one makes the offense better. A good one gives his QB more time to throw, which is something that opens up the playbook. Watching the Bills offense with all these short drops made them predictable and the league figured them out about two months ago. Of course, OT's don't sell tickets, and the Bills haven't taken an OT in the first or second since 2002.

Of course, OT's don't sell tickets, and the Bills haven't taken an OT in the first or second since 2002. Quit dreaming about getting stability on the O line, never happen! If it did it would ruin this FO's projected spin cycle routine. They obtain a QB and let him play 3 years, after he is beaten down and no longer of any value to the Buffalo Bills or any other team they eject him and start over. Now, the reason they never drafted a QB with the first pick in years past is because it would cost too much just to see him get beaten up and gone in 3 years. Now that the Rookie pay scale is in place it is so much cheaper. You can expect this team to select a QB with this years first pick to bring the fans back. 5-11 does leave a very bitter taste. Now isn't it exciting that the Bills will be selecting a rookie QB this year, imagine all the hoopla and ticket sales...yippee for rich ole ralphie!
